Best ever 2.5" drive

Windows XPI have been using, installing and recommending Segate products for over 10 years now for both desktop, server and now laptop computers. This is the quietest and most reliable drive I have ever installed in a laptop computer. I fully appreciate the drive is a little more expensive than some other manufacturers but weigh up the following, I have installed and upgraded over 100 systems in recent times and only one drive has been faulty. This drive was covered by the 5 year warranty, shipped back to Seagate and replaced without a fuss or problem to me or the end user.
Also think about that the drive comes with a standard 5 year warranty, standard how many others offer this.
Segate have recently purchased Maxtor and have upgraded their warranty to 3 years.
The drive I have installed in my laptop has performed without a fault for a few weeks now and continues to do so.
I have never found a fault with Segate products and unless something disaterous happens will only use these products.
Ok it does cost a few pounds more than others in the market but for piece of mind the few pounds more are worth it.
Quiet

Windows XPJust brought this drive and it is very quiet... you can barely hear it at times. Performance is also very good. It is Seagates new perpendicular drive.
I previously brought the Hitachi 7k100... but had to return it back as it was just soooo noisy in operation!... its performance was okay... but you couldnt work on you laptop without the constant...click click sound.
Would recommend purchasing this Seagate drive.
Great Drive

Windows XPInstalled as a replacement for a failing 4200rpm 40Gb Seagate drive. Performance is great now and no noise at all...just a small click sometimes. Heat level is also very low compared with the previous drive.
Rebuild for Vista

OtherYou really can't get better than Seagate hard drives. Plug in - switch on - instant hot shot performance. One criticism - the price has dropped £4 since I bought mine two weeks ago. Shucks.
Brillant Drive
Bought this to replace my 20gb drive on my IBM R31, Drive installed without any problems windows had no problems finding it and is super quiet cant hear it unless you put your head upto the laptop(as other reviews have said), always been impressed with Seagates drives and this is no exception!

Windows XPHard drive had failed on acer 2303 laptop. Ordered Thursday evening delivered free Monday lunchtime. Laptop working by 4pm. How easy is that an upgraded laptop (added 256 of memory at same time) for £50.
What a bargain!

Outstanding service from eBuyer too - they blew away their quoted seven-days-hence delivery date by five days.

Windows XPGenerally agree with other comments regarding quietness in operation - A very good drive for the price. The only thing I would mention is that mine had been ripped out of a Sony Vaio and had a previous install of XP Pro on it !
