I have a set of the gamer ones and they are well worth the money.

The build on these is very good. I love them would not swap them for the world.

I bought these a little while ago and have had no complaints at all!!! The surround feature whilst as others have said is not as good as a speaker system. overall it is very good and works perfectly well!!! they are very comfotable for me however maybe a little big for ladies (my wife says). if im forced to complain about anything which is difficult the cusion cover does come away a little easy which can be a pain but its not exactly a problem.

Vista 64-bit
review by: Jeffrey Novis os: Windows Vista

Yes these are Vista 64-bit compatitble. The driver on the disc I received with my headset is for Windows XP only, but you can download Vista drivers from the Speedlink website - http://www.speedlink.de/?p=2&cat=173&pid=3168&paus=2

Cheers,

Jeff

Great sound quality, but positional audio so-so

os: Not Applicable

I bought these primarily to play computer games, and the positional 5.1 audio was adequate, but obviously not as defined or noticeable as having a more elaborate set-up in your room with speakers and wires everywhere. But for the convenience and tidiness of having all the speakers and a subwoofer in each (comfortable) earpad, its probably more than you could expect - especially at £50, a complete bargain.

The microphone is an added bonus, though I rarely have a need for it.

Having used these on Windows XP Pro for about a week, you do need to be careful when turning the on/off from the integrated control on the headset lead, and also from unplugging them from your computer -- if you do either when they are in use, you will probably find that your computer crashes. However, with proper care and attention this isn't a problem - just ensure they're not in use before unplugging them.

Overall, I think the best aspect of these headphones is the quality of sound, with the positional audio being an added benefit. Note that these aren't the best thing to get if you want good positional audio, and if you do want this it's probably best to make a proper set up in your room with speakers on the walls etc. However, if you're like me and wanted to do away with the wires everywhere, then getting a pair of these will give you a taste of 3d audio, but should be thought of as more of a set of normal headphones.
