Great Product with the fastest performance

This card is the retail boxed Intel Gigabit desktop adapter, built on lead free process and for the PCI Express x1 interface.
Excellent gigabit performance from this card means you can copy files across the LAN very quickly, and reduced latency due to the PCIe interface, also saves your PCI slots for something like an Audigy.

Excellent Upgrade

I had Realtek Gigabit adapter built onto my Abit AB9 QuadGT motherboard that a) kept the network port it was in constantly flashing and b) seemed slow or gigabit.

I replaced it with this Intel Pro/1000PT and now my transfer rates are up from 32-38mbits to 45-52mbits. Haven't tried game latency yet, but it might be slightly lower. You can also put two of these in a team them up according to the driver. You would need a team on the other computer that you are pulling the data from to get full 2gbit thruput but depends on what you are doing.

You cannot pair up two of these cards and make a team - they have to be teamed with an Intel Pro server NIC such as QF:114417 or with an integrated Intel motherboard server NIC.
