Eats Asus for breakfast! Gigabyte...Upgrade your Life!
os:
Windows XPI previously had an Asus M2N-E mobo, but that was unstable like there's no tomorrow. It would freeze or reboot every 30 minutes. Have a look at Asus' forums. It seems to be a common problem...
Gigabyte, on the other hand, are top notch! This mobo is just perfect and stable with no problems that the Asus suffers from. I have also read that it takes OCZ ram just fine, unlike Asus...
The packaging is great, the mobo looks great and Gigabyte tech support is great. Received answers to queries the same day!
NOTE:
If people have trouble with putting their system to sleep (standby mode) without the fans running, you need to change the options in the bios.
Go to "Power Management Setup" in the bios and change the "ACPI Suspend Type" to "S3 (STR). Your PC will now go to standby mode with all the fans turned off.

To the guy who spent 2000!
I couldn't just sit here and read that without saying something! For that computer seems a really strange build and 2000 is way to much for a build of that quality.
For everyones knowledge I thought id enlighten you on some facts about your computer so others may learn too :).
1. 8GB of RAM is overkill and not used by any programs running on XP or Vista. 32-Bit XP/Vista can't even detect that much. To be honest, even 4GB is too much at the moment. You would of saved lots of money if you had 2GB and could of put the money on another part.
2. Dual 7600GT? Now for 2000 you could of got 2x 8800GTX's (Retail about 300 each) Not that you should, as one is more than enough to play any game and for working with 3D Apps like Modelling programs. 7600GT's are a low mid range card and even in SLI wont be able to handle new games, No matter what your memory.
3. As for your 2 Terrabytes of HDD space, Im assuming you are editing/rendering video or animations on this computer, therefore needing the space. But I would think even a Terrabyte of space is more than enough and you could of saved money and again, improved other components.
4. 1KW powersupplys are rarely needed, But in your case It may be neccessary, although im sure a 800W would of sufficed, but for SLI and 2 HDD's. Maybe having a higher PSU isnt a bad idea.
5. AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+, This is a low range processor as well. And the entry dual core from AMD. To be honest im confused why you chose this processor as higher clocked processors are not much more money and overclock much nicer.
For under 2000 you could of got this build:
ASUS P5B Socket 775 Motherboard
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 (2.4GHz 1066MHz) Socket 775 L2 8MB Cache (2x4MB)
2GB OCZ (OCZ2P800LP2GK)PC2-6400 DDR2-800 4-4-4-15 Platinum (Lifetime Warranty)
EVGA 8800GTX 768MB GDDR3 384bit Dual DVI PCI-E Graphics Card
Hiper 580W Type-R Modular PSU SLI/CrossFire Certified - Black
Coolermaster Mystique 632S Black Steel Mid Tower Case - No PSU
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Gamer - Fatal1ty Professional Series
Samsung SH-S183 SATA 18x DVD±RW/RAM Black - Bare Drive OEM
Hitachi Deskstar 1TB SATAII 7200rpm 32MB Cache - OEM (Assuming you need alot of space)
1122.56 - Total
Now, optionally you could of added another 8800GTX and another TB HDD and still stayed under 2000. So, Im amazed your build cost you over 2000, It was not worth it, at all.
My 370 pounds build beats you're build at almost everything:
Gigabyte M57SLI-S4
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+
2GB OCZ DDR2 800Mhz RAM
250GB HDD
Nvidia GeForce 7900GS XXX Edition
550W PSU
Cost me only 370 pounds and outperforms your PC.
Price does not necessarily mean quality people, Read up on parts, Read up on prices and choose wisely.

OtherUsed this board with a 4600+ and a whole new build, wont bore you with the specs.
Highly recommended buy, SATA installation a breeze, support and drivers brilliant.
Windows x64 XP Professional supported well and all x64 drivers available for the board meaning its Vista ready.
Board runs at a cool 27 degrees with adequate air cooling (3 case fans).
Performance is fast and it works well with the BFG 7900 GT.
awesome

Windows XPBought this for a first build. Thanks to those who already reveiwed this item everything went well.Used 4600+ x2 processor, gig ram, 256 graphics card, sata2 hard drive all from ebuyer(where else,no one offers such prices and awesome service). My current computer is a 2200+ amd athlon which served me well for many years and still fairly quick. The new one however is just blindingly fast. Dual core is awesome, Dont let anyone tell you different. This motherboard worth every penny and more.Bought an upgraded cpu cooler but havn't fitted yet as stock cooler is doing the job fine.Cant recommend this board enough. well done gigabyte and to ebuyer. And many thanks to those who leave such usefull feedback and advice for others to follow.

Windows XPI have never built a computer before and I cant even work a mobile phone, needless to say my intention to build a computer was met by much laughter from my family!
However putting together a system with this motherboard was simple, the manual was good and the bios [now I know what bios is] software self detected and sorted itself out. I was up and running in a couple of hours. I couldnt quite believe it.
Running win xp the only problems were that I had to contact microsoft to get a validation code as the xp product [I bought secondhand] had been loaded so many times before. I should have bought oem vista/xp from ebuyer.
Delivery also caused headaches, as I bought in 2 separate orders, first was ok, the second was delivered earlier than expected and no one was in, on redelivery I had gone out for 10 mins, hence had to travel 30 miles to pick the goods up from the 'local' citylink depot. lesson, I should have got the items delivered to my workplace.
Complete system used AMD 64x2 4400 cpu [it just slipped in!] coolermaster case [power was already there, lots of cables though, just pick ends that match the plugs, cable ties vital], 2gb kingston ram [click and go] pioneer dvd,
sata western digital hard drive [sata is soo easy to plug in], nvidia 7300 silent video card [nice!].
Its just a multi-purpose home system.
I would recommend building a system to anyone, keep your nerve and read the manual just in case. I am v proud of my efforts and would do it all again.
Great Mobo
os:
Windows VistaFirstly to 'Anon' 'Install Windows XP SATA hard drive' the answer is yes, as long as you swap the bios to boot to the cd/dvd first. The drivers recognised my two sataII HDD's one Sammy and one WD. Even if you do need to load drivers you can do it via a mem stick by again ensuring usb support is activated in the bios.
Now this board.......... what a piece of art, easy to install everything you need and has everything you could possibly wish to hook up to it for a mid range mobo.
onboard Gigabit Ethernet controller, USB's by the bucket load, up to 6 Sata drives plus one IDE hook up for older drives ( ideal for data transfer from old HDD's once up and running in windows ) As stable as hell and a totally flexible BIOS for tweakers everywhere....
I stuck this on it:
5600+ AMD CPU
Arctic Freezer Pro 64
4Gb Corsair Ram
8800GT Inno3d Card
80Gb WD HDD SataII
500Gb Sammy Spinpoint SataII
2x Case Fans
Pioneer 115D DVD/RW
Sammy SH-D162C DVD Rom
All Powered by a 650w Modular PSU and all bought from here on Ebuyer.
And I stuck it all in a Casecom Midi tower with a LCD display.
