Very Good PSU
review by: Paul Welford os: Windows XP

I bought this to upgrade the standard 400W smartpower PSU in the Antec Sonata Case. It is certainly quieter than the original 400W.

I am using with older style Asus K8N motherboard with 20pin connector and as it describes the 4 additional pins easily detach of the 24 pin connector.

happy to recommend.

This power supply is excellent, and pretty silent. Packs a real punch.

For previous poster, the blue and black cable is for the chassis speed on the motherboard, hook it up and you'll be able to see the speed at which the Antec PSU fan is running.

Excellent Product..... Limited Information
review by: Anonymous os: Windows XP

Does anyone know where the thin, twisted pair of wires (black & blue) emerging from the power supply, with a 3 pin plug on terminate to? I guess it`s on the motherboard somewhere (ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe fitted in an ANTEC P108B case) but they are not labelled up and there is no reference in the User`s Manual. Obviously this is my first attempt at building a pc but I feel this information should be available in the Manual.

Connector info
review by: Anonymous os: Not Applicable

I'm fairly certain the small plug with the blue & black wires is for monitoring of PSU fan speed. Not all motherboards have connectors to allow this facility.

I have always bought Antec PSUs and once again I wasn't let down. This PSU is solid. 3x 12v rails, comes with Antec's excellent reputation. Performs excellent, I would definately buy another Antec.
