A must buy for gamers

I got this to replace my antec phantom which, at only 500w, wasn't powerful enough for my latest upgrade. I saw this one didn't have many ratings here, I looked it up on google and I found nothing but good reviews, so I bought it. This is a great PSU that's not only capable of powering a multi-core SLi system but is near silent at the same time.

Long cables ensure the motherboard power connectors can reach even in my Antec P180 case. The two fan-only molex connectors enable the PSU to automatically adjust the case fan speeds according to temperature.

In short the Antec TruePower Trio is powerful, quiet, and cool. If you play games and want a PSU that can handle anything, you need the Antec TruePower Trio.

Nvidia Certified PSU
review by: Anonymous os: Not Applicable

It doesn't actually mention it but this power supply is certified by Nvidia for use on SLI systems specificaly 7900GTX's x2.

I bought a 700w power supply thinking it would be enough, but its the amps!!! not the watts you need to look at for high end GPU's

Gonna buy this one right now so i might be able to play some games without PC turning it's self off !!

Very Good

I bought this to replace my faulty coolermaster PSU QuickFind:116522 that sounded awful, this PSU comes well packaged and long cables enough for antecs P180 case which has the PSU situated at the bottom of the case and its a huge case so good there.
Has lots of connections for almost anything.

Also very quiet cant hear it at all,

The only negative this PSU has is there are so many connections that its almost impossible to cable manage, they should of made it possible to detach unwanted cables.

But overall it still gets 5 stars :)

So far so good

as the title states so far all is well, i have only had the psu running for a few hours but i am very impressed, i bought it to replace my crappy Q-tec 550watt psu and i have noticed a big drop in system noise, a lower cpu temperature (about 8 degrees C) due to better airflow i imagine, and better system stability. as previous reviews state the packaging is good, cables are huge with about 4 million connectors for every concievable application, the unit is pretty heavy and looks and feels very well built, the only downside is cable storage, that is with so many the ones you dont use just flop about, but its a small price to pay, i would recomend it to anyone looking for a quality psu.

Very quiet

I have bought and used three Antec Trios in three different pc's in the last 8 months. Two of these have been new builds and one was a replacement for a three year old supposedly "quiet" psu which was beginning to become eratic in its running. That pc feels like a totally different machine as it is now so much quieter. All the Trios have been impressive - quiet and stable. The fan is huge but therefore can rotate slowly and quietly. The ample number of connectors are all robust and are clearly labelled. The whole unit is well constructed and I have not had any problem installing any of the Trios in the three cases from different manufacturers. I have previously had disasters with cheap psu's which have failed. Backed by a good warranty, I think this is money well spent.

Nice

Replace my antec 480W which burnt, i think due to overloading, but this one is solid. Too much cable though, but if you have a big case, you'll be alright.

Does anyone know what the Black/Blue wire is for?

A Meaty PSU

Quality PSU. Cables long enough for an Antec P180. Cool, quiet and so far reliable. No problems with a Asus P5K, E6850 and 8800GTS. Modular would have been nice, but there are lots of places to hide the spare cables in the P180.

Antec Modular alternative now available
review by: Anonymous os: Other

Hi,

Just to let those complaining about the lack of cable management or clutter know, Ebuyer now also sell the Neopower 650w, which is a modular PSU but without the dedicated fan power connector this one has. I have one of these and am happy with it.

Naturally if you have one of the TruePower 650Ws already you'll probably stick with it, but my posting is just here to help those searching on here.

This will easily fit into an Antec P182 case with just enough length on the cables to reach all your components. The triple rail system is a great feature and ensures all components are well fed ;) It runs very cool thanks to the 120mm fan. One of the best features is the inclusion of two PCI-E connectors to ensure those 8800gtx's get enough juice. One minor down point is that Antec really should have made this psu modular as with three rails there is alot of excess cable to hide!

5 stars.
