Good case for the money

Nicely made, dont like the stealth drive bay personally, but this is easily removed. Fans abit noisey, but hey at this price!!! about to put a cold cathode tube in to complete the look. there is no fan in the side as standard, just the front and rear.

Lack of psu no problem, lets you choose what you want....

Nice bit is the USB leads and front sound leads are mainly in one large plug rather than individual ones, which makes it far easier and quicker to build.

5 stars no question, excellent value!!!!

New Build...

ASRock 775DUAL-VSTA SKT 775 – easy instructions, feels sturdy unlike others I have used. AGP 8x is probably your best bet for this board seeing as the PCI-E is only 4x. Inclusion for two SATA drives is a brilliant addition to such a brilliantly priced capable board. If you have a PCI-E GPU and DDR11 memory I would recommend getting a dedicated PCI-E board. The board noticed everything on first boot (after a fresh install of OS). Had to set the DDR11 memory to 667mhz in the bios though as it was being recognised as 533mhz. The BIOS version came as 1.9. It came with 1 x SATA cable, 1 x SATA power adapter, 1 x IDE HDD cable (twin), 1 x Floppy cable and driver CD.

Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4ghz – installation is very simple if you follow the instructions. A bit of a scary moment when closing the socket lever, a bit of crunching noise while the socket pins bite the chip! Running at a constant 28’c.

Arctic Cooling (AC-FRZ-7P) Freezer 7 Pro – it’s a big unit which gives you confidence in its cooling ability. Extremely easy to install. It comes with its own dissipating grease already pasted to the heatsink. According to Arctic Cooling the cooling performance will increase as the paste gets exposed to heat etc and the unit ‘beds’ in. On idle my Conroe E6600 is running at 28’c. Very quiet and built to last.

Ebuyer 1GB DDR2 667MHz PC2-5400 – Got recognised by the Motherboard as 533mhz but that’s the motherboard not this Ram. No issue’s what so ever in this not being recognised.

Belinea 1925S1W 19" Widescreen – looks brilliant! Upon connection after a fresh OS install it looked terrible. Don’t bother with the drivers that come with this, I used my GPU (Geforce 6200 256) drivers and it resized the resolution to its correct 1440x900 automatically.

Extra Value Gold 600W 12cm Fan Silent PSU – looks great in its yellow/gold finish. Loads of connectors but the main power connector is a little bit short when you have to re route it past the big Freezer Pro CPU cooler. Run’s 3 IDE HDD, 256mb Geforce 6200 APG 8x, dvd drive, cd-r/rw drive, Conroe E6600 and 2 GB of memory fine.

Casecom Black Mid Tower Case – you can’t take the motherboard base plate out because it is riveted in, just install the CPU into the motherboard before installing. Massive fan to draw cool air in at the bottom on the front panel (blue led fan) and a nice fan to expel air mid way up the rear panel (also blue led). The Freezer Pro expels its air directly into the exhaust fan on the rear panel. The stealth cd cover catches on the drive draw a little at first but soon beds in and now closes fully. Fans are quiet too, definitely recommended.

Overall a very good case

The first computer I built myself was in this case. Obviously the cheap price and blue lights attracted my attention (probably why you are viewing this product right now). And let my tell you it is much more than a pretty... emmm.. well... case.

For under 20 quid this is by far the best case you can get hands on.

Pros:
Very good air flow due to the 120mm fan at the front and because of the mesh at the front; once the temporary metal panels are removed you may put in 80mm fans in the 5.25 drives(if you have 3 spare you may mount a 120mm but remember to buy a rounded ide cable to improve air flow). If you can afford 1 more pound by another 80mm fan to bolt to the clear panel.

Expandability is just unbelievable for the price, you get 3x5.25" slots for Dvd-RW ect, But there is also a 4th one for another hard drive( if you buy the mounts). 2x3.5" but there is only one slot that has front panel access. There are 4x3.5" hard drive slots at the bottom, front end of the case (which are very well cooled by the 120mm fan).

Easy Open from and back panel, just twist off screws.

Cons:
The only draw back for this case are the cables supplied with the case for the front panel audio and the front panel usb ports are far to short for a full ATX motherboard (I have never tried with a mATX)

And unless the case has changed in a month the exhaust fan is a 80mm not a 120mm (but im pretty sure you could mount a 120mm in its place)

Overall definitely worth the money.

Very Good looking case - the photo is not so clear. The fans look great, and ventilate lots of air - just stick another 80mm on the side for excellent cooling.

The build quality, for a £15.00 case is SUPERB. It's sturdy, it looks fantastic, the window also looks great - I've bought some real rubbish for this price before, but this is not it. The window also has a very simple clip on clip off feature, preventing the slide and jam feature of others... it always fits snugly.

Get a 450W sumvision power supply (like £8.00) and you're away. The above power supply is better than the generic casecom rubbish anyway! Seriously, buy this, you won't be disappointed (unless you usually have £100.00 cases - and go to Lan parties etc)...

Nice case

Bought this case since it had a side panel.
So far, I don't mind it at all.

Little bigger than my previous mATX case, but it's not cramped like my previous case was (yay!).
I think it's convenient that there's space between the top drive bay and the top of the case, I use it as a cable tidy to tuck away the masses of cables that spew out the PSU.

Since I've got cold cathode tubes, you can see the entire case light up through the side panel. And, since the tubes came with a switch, whenever it gets annoying, I just flick them off.

However, it's a bit of an invconvenience that there's only one drive bay that has a flap and I did notice one or two problems. I cannot screw in my floppy drive since the screw holes won't align. Secondly, I can't seem to get my CD drives completely forward, the front bezel isn't wide enough for the drives. But no biggy.

This case is just top notch for the price, my brother has an Antec 900 Gaming case and I get the same temps as him, our systems are identical.
E4300 OC'd @ 2.4GHz
2GB OCZ Spec Ops 800MHz
320GB SATA 7200RPM Seagate Barracuda
BFG 8800GTS

Case is very solid and has great airflow.
My CPU currently sites at 27C, and thats overclocked with stock cooling! Fantastic.. buy before they're all gone!

BEST VALUE WINDOWED CASE EVER!
review by: Michael Nixonrating:

I bought this case to go with a new core 2 duo gaming system I was building on a budget, as it looked the part and the price was right. It also comes without a PSU which is a *good thing* because then you can pair it with a nice PSU of your choice (mine was a 380W eXtreme power by coolermaster, a very quiet and cool unit).

The side panels don't slide, they simply tilt/clip in and out. This prevents scratching the window by sliding it against cables, and stops the side fan (if you attach one) getting caught.

When you check the parts, don't be alarmed that there are only 3 motherboard standoffs. This is because the case has built in standoff bumps for the most common mounting points - and they include 3 extra standoffs for motherboards that have extra mount points (I only needed to use 1 of them with my asus board).

The build quality is extremely good at this price. The only annoyance are the snap-out metal inserts for the PCI slots, ATX motherboard I/O plate and drive bays.

The stealth drive bay is quite a nice touch, it can be removed if you don't like it (it clips out, so it can be put back later if you choose). You will probably need to remove the front faschia of the drive tray to stop it catching on the way back in if you use it, I had to do this with my sony DVD-RW drive. All of the drive bay covering plates are black mesh and can be reinserted after removing if you desire, unlike some cases where they snap out permanently. This is good!

The case has 3 5.25" bays useable at the front, with a nice gap at the top which you can use for tidying cables. Inside there are quite a few hard disk bays next to the very large 120mm cooling fan at the front, great design to keep your hard disks cool!

2 fans are included, both with blue LEDs. The front 120mm fan is very quiet and very powerful and seriously helps with cooling your system down. The rear fan is a little noisy, but not annoying. Get yourself a fan controller if this bothers you.

Only gripes are - the USB and audio cables at the front are a tad short in my opinion. Also, I couldn't connect the audio cable to my soundblaster audigy, but I suspect that's because the audigy is at fault (different connection type).

It is possible to fit an 80mm fan in the side panel, you will need to remove the mesh to do this (not difficult).

Buy this, you will NOT be dissapointed!
