New Build..

os: Windows XP

ASRock 775DUAL-VSTA SKT 775 – easy instructions, feels sturdy unlike others I have used. AGP 8x is probably your best bet for this board seeing as the PCI-E is only 4x. Inclusion for two SATA drives is a brilliant addition to such a brilliantly priced capable board. If you have a PCI-E GPU and DDR11 memory I would recommend getting a dedicated PCI-E board. The board noticed everything on first boot (after a fresh install of OS). Had to set the DDR11 memory to 667mhz in the bios though as it was being recognised as 533mhz. The BIOS version came as 1.9. It came with 1 x SATA cable, 1 x SATA power adapter, 1 x IDE HDD cable (twin), 1 x Floppy cable and driver CD.

Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4ghz – installation is very simple if you follow the instructions. A bit of a scary moment when closing the socket lever, a bit of crunching noise while the socket pins bite the chip! Running at a constant 28’c.

Arctic Cooling (AC-FRZ-7P) Freezer 7 Pro – it’s a big unit which gives you confidence in its cooling ability. Extremely easy to install. It comes with its own dissipating grease already pasted to the heatsink. According to Arctic Cooling the cooling performance will increase as the paste gets exposed to heat etc and the unit ‘beds’ in. On idle my Conroe E6600 is running at 28’c. Very quiet and built to last.

Ebuyer 1GB DDR2 667MHz PC2-5400 – Got recognised by the Motherboard as 533mhz but that’s the motherboard not this Ram. No issue’s what so ever in this not being recognised.

Belinea 1925S1W 19" Widescreen – looks brilliant! Upon connection after a fresh OS install it looked terrible. Don’t bother with the drivers that come with this, I used my GPU (Geforce 6200 256) drivers and it resized the resolution to its correct 1440x900 automatically.

Extra Value Gold 600W 12cm Fan Silent PSU – looks great in its yellow/gold finish. Loads of connectors but the main power connector is a little bit short when you have to re route it past the big Freezer Pro CPU cooler. Run’s 3 IDE HDD, 256mb Geforce 6200 APG 8x, dvd drive, cd-r/rw drive, Conroe E6600 and 2 GB of memory fine.

Casecom Black Mid Tower Case – you can’t take the motherboard base plate out because it is riveted in, just install the CPU into the motherboard before installing. Massive fan to draw cool air in at the bottom on the front panel (blue led fan) and a nice fan to expel air mid way up the rear panel (also blue led). The Freezer Pro expels its air directly into the exhaust fan on the rear panel. The stealth cd cover catches on the drive draw a little at first but soon beds in and now closes fully. Fans are quiet too, definitely recommended.

I Was told not to use extra value ram by some pro builders because they have a bad name. well im glad i didnt listen. this is fantastic and i will use extra value ram from now on. no point in spending mega bucks if it is just as good. sure it aint pretty to look at, but whos gonna see it? no one so go for it i did and am extremely happy with it.

I was debating for a time over whether to get two of these or 1GB (2 x 512) of Corsair XMS2. I decided on this because it has double the memory.
As this is my first build i can not compare it to anything, but I can say that it functions well. With a low-mid range GPU and mid range Core 2 DUO (6400) it plays Medieval Total War 2 on 1440x900 with no lag.
What else can I say?

Why do people give reviews with 1 star because they recieve something that doesnt work. IF IT DOESNT WORK RETURN IT. It doesnt mean the product is rubbish.

I have 2 of these bad boys in my systemand I can safely say that it may be budget RAM, but it's high quality.
And to the guy below who commented that if ur running big apps and fancy games the RAM wont last. Shut up. You dont know what you're talking about!

I give this GREAT buy and EXCEPTIONAL bargain 5/5 EASILY!

I've just built a new system with parts from Ebuyer and chose this RAM based on comments from previous buyers. I was not dissappointed at it is excellent and works great. Why bother with the branded stuff!
