Works great on my Acer Aspire laptop
review by: Graham Cutting rating:

operating system: Windows Vista

Brilliant improvemnet in performance after installing 2 in Aspire laptop running Vista. Has improved my base score performance by improving my video score too. Memory score is now brilliant. Money much better spent than on the so called Readyboost technology of Vista which sucks and slowed my machine down if anything.

Bargain?

I ordered this to upgrade my HP laptop and it's worked perfectly since fitting it (very easily). It's now even cheaper than when I ordered it, so it must be a bargain!

No problems :)

Installed it on my Core Duo Macbook Pro, works fine. OSX really does need 2gb of RAM.

i chose it over the cheaper corsair as there were reports of problems with that ram.

1GB Upgrade for 2 Windows Vista Laptops
review by: Thomas Kear rating:
customer rating
operating system: Windows Vista

Bought two of these modules.

Put one into a Toshiba Laptop to upgrade to 2GB. Spot on, no problems, vast improvements in boot time and general usage.

Put the other into an Advent Laptop, also to upgrade to 2GB. Similar performance increase as above.

Very good upgrade for the small cost, recommended!

CHEAP and Works well in my Sony Vaio VGN-FE core2duo
review by: Bob rating:
customer rating
operating system: Windows XP

I bought 2 sticks of this memory and fitted them into my Vaio VGN FE-31H. A straight forward task (2 screws, a bit of care, all done in less than 5 minutes) and the improvements over the original 1Gb (2 x 512Mb) are spectacular - just what you'd expect when you double the amount of available RAM, I guess.

The OS is Win XP-MC Edn. Solely as an indication of the improvement: with a DVD movie playing and just for fun I can now press spacebar, spacebar, spacebar, spacebar, etc. until the cows come home and there's no longer any noticable delay, staggering or catch-up between these successive pause, play, pause, play, pause, play commands. (Yeah, I know, simple amusements for a simple mind.)

Two observations: I bought and installed two 1 Gb sticks, not a 2x1Gb kit or matched pair. I may just have been lucky in this. And, had I bought the 2 x 1Gb kit, it would have cost > £200 from eBuyer versus ~£60 from Crucial Direct for a 2 piece kit with the same Spec.

Instead, I paid ~£60 to eBuyer and I think it was well worth it - particularly when I consider the astronomic price Sony Style are asking for the same upgrade.

These are fine for intel imac
review by: Anonymous rating:

operating system: Mac OSX

Got 2 of these to upgrade my intel imac and they worked a treat. Annoying that the original fit is 2x512 so you have to replace both to get 2Gb but apple want considerably more for their ram upgrade and this works just as well.

Ordered 2 of these, and they arrived nice and early the next day. Working perfectly in my Mac Mini - it's now much faster than it was with the default memory loadout.

Thanks!

Great price and works well
review by: Joel Spencer rating:

operating system: Windows Vista

Got this for my Siemens Esprimo which came with 1gb for Vista. 1gb was insufficient as it shared 256mb with the GPU. Anyway this boosted my vista index scores by 0.2 for the memory and cpu scores and boot times and application loads are a lot faster. Took 5 mins to install (usually takes less but the Siemens requires the whole motherboard back panel to be removed not just a ram opening) and Bios and Windows picked it up fine.

N.B. Windows may detect less than the full 2 gig in certain applications as some memory may be used by gpus

Well worth the fifteen pounds
review by: Hans Neher rating:
customer rating
operating system: Windows Vista

I ordered this for an Advent notebook, it was a doddle to fit, and has significantly speeded up the computer when more than one application is open at one time.

These fifteen pounds are the best spent money this summer, and if in doubt, Vista does need 2GB!
