You won't go back (If it works!)

Windows XPWow, where do I start. This is my first review on anything, so go easy on me. I just felt the need to comment on this OS after reading so many negative reviews on it. Firstly, its massive, far too big to even scratch the surface on this humble review. But after a good day or two putting the software through its paces I have enjoyed the experience... upgrading from xp Media Centre Edition 2005 meant I could keep the features that I am used to such as the tv and video recording. Somehow this version seems more mature and responsive. Where xp would stutter during playback and browsing Vista is smooth, it makes watching TV and browsing effortless. It was a feature I gave up on in XP and almost forgot about it, but now I have found the love again, and it is even better.
I had no problems on install, recognising ALL my drivers and software (upgraded rather than clean install) and the elby clonedrive even worked (I read that beta had issues). Although the BIGGEST problem was when I tried to install Mcafee virus suite. The programme installed with "THIS PROGRAMME HAS COMPATABILITY ISSUES" and I clicked on 'continue' (stupidly) which led to an unbootable pc :( and after booting in safe mode and deleting the programme all was good, well if you call no virus scanner good it was!!! I am sure Mcafee will sort this out, and the lesson was learnt here to read the dialog boxes with more common sense! I downloaded a free verson of avast antivirus until this problem is sorted.
OVERALL I am very happy with the whole process, browsing is fast, boot time has increased, looking for things withing folders is genius (when you get to grips with the new browsing lables in folders). I can stream to the front rooms 360 with NO problems, and unsupported formats CAN still be played with the new transcode programme on the 360 streaming from the pc! The whole migration to Vista was a painless one, and as I said before, using the OS just feels more mature when compaired to XP. It is by no means the HUGE revolution we were promised 2 years ago but it is a seemless update. Everything is still there, it just feels fresher. I can't ever see me going back to XP, I love the new look, and it just works for me. I hope it will for you!

Five Star

Windows VistaI bought this upgrade from eBuyer about two weeks ago. After changing some components to improve my computer I installed it.
All I can really say is that I was a bit 'buggy' to start with, but after a few days and updates etc, Windows Vista has become quite stable. It is a vast improvement over XP, I would never consider going back.
Uk Price
os:
Windows XPLooks nice but underneath does not give the majority of users any reason to upgrade, for most people who email, browse and word process this upgrade is not required. Whatever they say security should be down to the user not the OS. Would consider if we in Ripoff UK could purchase at the same price as the US where retail is about 80 pounds! Wait until your pc needs to be changed....
Good Looks - But It's A Slow Old Dog IMO

Windows VistaI got Vista Home Premium on a new Dual Core Dell Inspiron. Initially I was impressed with the look of the thing - it made a refreshing change and was very easy on the eye. However, the more I ran it the more frustrated I became. Everything runs soooooo slowly including browsing the net, email etc etc. You name it. And I got so ANNOYED being asked to confirm or go into administrator whenever I wanted to delete or move a folder, stuff like that. As soon as I installed XP dual boot on the machine I then realised how it had turned my nice new Dell into a donkey. XP Pro zipped along in comparison. So after giving it a month or so I'm now reformatting my laptop to run on XP Pro (with Google Gadgets that gives me the main Vista feature I liked) with Vista as the second choice boot. But beware. After moving my email to Windows Mail MS gives you no easy route back again. I've managed to - but all my email folders, which I rely on for my business, have lost their attachments. Angry is NOT the word.....
What puzzles me!!!
What puzzles me with this product is that the upgrade version cost £123 but the full version is cheaper at £117. How can the upgrade cost more than the full version? Very strange pricing policy. If this is the case, you may as well buy the full version... Rating is for pricing, not product... I would give the product 5 stars even though I have not bought this yet..
Please help,
Could someone clarify that i can upgrade with a oem copy of xp pro.
Also i heard a romour that Vista supported the mod market allowing multible reinstalls.
Is this true?
xp x64
can i go from xp x64 to this or do i need the full version
