To the guy who only got 137GB
review by: Anonymous os: Not Applicable

Either your pc only supports 137GB drives or you have set the jumper to limit the drive for older pc's. Check the jumper settings, if the drive is still only recognised as 137Gb maxtor provide software on their site for using the entire drive even on older machines.

Absolutely fab HDD, ordered and got here next day, plugged it in, thought something was wrong, then remembered it was raw, formatted into NTFS and works with Vista like a charm, fast too!

I bought one for a new XP 64 build. Solid piece of kit and fast enough. A little noisier than expected, but not a real problem. Excellent value. Get one.

guy with only 137gb showing
review by: Anonymous os: Windows Vista

solution 1 cos your running xp home i think, go to control panel ( if you have SP2) amidistive tools click on storage, then disc management you will see a graph of your drive showing the 137gb as active and the other 183gb wil show as unalocated space, right click , format, assign a drive letter and het presto you have another 183gb drive ( well its the same drive only windows home didnt recognise the other bit)
Solution 2
if you dont have SP2 get it ( Microsoft update)
Solution 3
If you want to make the whole drive as one patition ( one drive) of 320gb
get a free patition software prog like patition magic
Good luck
