Not bad at all..
operating system:
Not ApplicableI bought this on the spur of the moment, at 500Watt PSU for £14, with an SATA Power connector!
My PC has always had problems with Power, and my 350W PSU never seemed to cut it, I put this in (took less than a minute by the way) Plugged my Drives and Fans in, disconnected the extra 4 pins off the ATX plug, and off we go.
Now I can run at 333mhz for the first time ever, my USB's seem a hell of a lot more healthy, having the SATA connector seems to make that better too.
Ok so maybe this is a placebo affect, but it works.
The downside of course is the lack of screws, any paperwork, and a power switch. But they are so minor it doesn't warrant losing a star.
This review is probably true for the 400W Supply, Quickfind: 119582 as well.
faultless for the money
operating system:
Windows XPpay another twenty quid and you may just get a whisper-quiet PSU....this one is pretty quiet compared to bog standard, in fact my CPU fan makes more noise. plenty of connectors including SATA, 24 pin (with detachable 4 for older boards), P4 4-pin mini attachment. no on/off switch so remember to unplug before making system changes (you should do this anyway, even with an on/off switch....so no loss).
works brilliantly
operating system:
Windows XPI have had one of these PSU's in my dual core amd 4200 2gig ram, with 2 hard drives and a very power hungry graphics card, aswell as the usual DVD drives etc, and i have to say it runs everything perfect, never have any problems with it.
My mate won the Lucky Dip!
operating system:
Not ApplicableBought this to rebuild my low spec Sempron system.
However my friend rang to advise his less than two years old core2duo, 2Gb ram, 320 Gb HD Packard Bell had stopped working after a funny smell. I found the 250W (max!) psu u/s (caked inside with dust!) so fitted this one.
Ran up first time and is virtually silent. I had to check visually that the fans were working!
I'm gonna buy another, definitely for me this time!
work very will with
i have got 4 of them now and they work very will on on p4 ht and AMD PHENOM QUAD CORE 2.6GHZ PROCESSORS and a amd athlon 64 x2 and a Intel Celeron 430 1.80GH
Budget PSU
operating system:
Windows VistaAs you would expect this is a cheap PSU. No power switch, no screws and no paper work. When fitted it in the case all the labels are upside down.
Has plenty of power cables of reasonable length. Is fairly quiet and of reasonable construction.
I wouldn`t use this with an average to fairly powerful computer, but is fine for a cheap low spec machine.
I have tested this kind of PSU on a `Dual core` PC and it was very poor. Ok with single core CPU and nothing too power hungry!
This thing on a dell
yes this will work on a dell inspiron or dimension. works well with intel celeron pentium 4 and pentium dual core. i dont think this is good for core2 duo or pentium d and other power hungry things.
very good
operating system:
Windows XPthis PSU is excellent for performance and does handle very well.
the downside is that it is very noisy.
apart from that the cables are the right length and the fans push a lot of air.
Cheap but noisey !!
operating system:
Windows 7I bought this for a custom built machine running Windows Server 2008 with 3 physical HDD's (1 IDE, 2 SATA), 1 CD Drive (IDE) & running 3 virtual machine's. Doesn't come with enough SATA power outputs but you can buy a converter for about £1.
I chose this PSU purely because I am extremely tight.
Comparing this to my old PSU which only cost about £30, it is extremely noisey.
You may be able to change the fan speed on it in the BIOS I haven't checked, but straight out of the box it is extremely noisey.
If you can put up with the noisey fan, it's a bargain.
You can't even buy a power supply from PC World for less than £25 & this gets delivered for £20.
Another downside, is the lack of a power switch.
Positive is obviously the price & that it has Surge Protection, which is what killed my old PSU.
Noisy!
operating system:
Not ApplicableSo loud I can't hear myself think!
Am returning mine as it's just unusable...
