Fantastic product at a fantastic price
os:
Windows XPThis cooler has been tested to match water cooler performance within a well ventilated case. It includes screw on arms which allow fitting on motherboards with push through holes, and those with clips that take a hook. Comes with standard thermal grease, but I'd use any silver stuff if possible.
There are other high performance northbridge coolers, but these cost 3 times as much and are all much taller - the Zalman has them all beat.
Some specialist overclocking retailers sell this for twice the Ebuyer price. Current Ebuyer price 4.63
Awesome cooler

LinuxIgnore the to Anonymous 1 star reviewers they obviously didn't realise that you are supposed to tighten the fittings before attaching it to the northbridge lol
This cooler is absolutely awesome and has dropped the temps of my northbridge by 10oC without any case fans!
has a very solid fit and took no longer than 10mins to align the holes before tightening the screws and popping the pins in.
I seriously recomend this cooler!
No complaints from me

Not ApplicableThis took me around 10 minutes to fit, and whilst a litle bit fiddley it should fit on any motherboard providing your existing NB fan has two holes for push clips.
This replaced my old NB fan as it started making a nasty high pitched noise. Silence at last!
Great value with excellent results
Bought this to replace a very noisy fan on an Abit IS7 motherboard.
The IS7 board is one of those annoying boards that use loops rather than pins to secure the Northbridge cooler and the Zalman ZM-NBF47 worked a treat.
It was just a case of screwing the supplied loop clips onto the heatsink, apply a bit of the supplied thermal grease and it clipped in very easily with a nice tight fit. Overall, including removing and reinstalling the graphics card for extra access, it took about 10 mins to install.
Slient operation and a bonus of a 5c drop in the Northbridge temp.
Does the job

Not ApplicableYeah its well fiddly to fit, but with a bit of skilled tweaking it works well. Solves the A8N fan problems.
great principle, poor design.

Not ApplicableHaving used Zalman products in the past, I though I'd be onto a winner by choosing this heatsink to replace a lightweight one provided with my Motherboard.
Everything went well and looked good until I tried to fit it.
-Using push in fixtures, not hooked. (supplied with both, should be ok)
However due to the fixing 'arms' attaching to the heatsink via a nut&bolt into a section of groove on the underside of the heatsink, (see zalman website for fitting instructions) finding an angle to which the push pins can line up to the holes in the motherboard was almost impossible without the arm sliding out of the groove.
The arms are loose fitting too, causing adjustment to commonly result in them falling off. Much tinkering finally got the product installed, but is does not feel like a satisfactory contact with the chip for cooling.
I would expect better.
Poorly Designed

Windows XPI tried fitting this to my motherboard, a Gigabyte GA-IK1100. After several hours fiddling, I managed to attach it to the northbridge chipset. It was still loose and any movement would force the screws out of their positions. It was so loose in fact, I could rock it from side to side. I could not see it providing very effective cooling. It is very poorly designed and I eventually decided to remove it altogether.
Will it fit?
will this fit the southbridge chip on the asus p5n-e Sli 650i MOBO??,,
looks cool
