Great bit of kit
operating system:
Windows XPWe purchased this to create a simple raid 1 array with 2x 250gb wd disks.
On boot after bios check, it gives the option to press control+s or one of the F keys. This takes you into the cards config. From there you can configure any arrays and/or rebuild them.
After creating the array since we were doing a fresh install, we booted the machine from the Windows XP setup disk. You need to create a floppy disk with the drivers for windows setup which are on the disk supplied with the card.
There is a program (windows and linux) so you can monitor the array within your OS (also sends emails on fault). This was a bit buggy, but usable (using windows version). This program can also be used to create arrays from your os (untested)
Being standard pci you only get SATA150 and not SATA300. You can get full SATA300 support with pcie versions of this card also available from ebuyer for a few pounds more.
Im looking at installing more of these cards in the near future.

Windows 7 Compatible
operating system:
OtherJust to confirm that this product is Windows 7 compatible. I am running it on Win7 64Bit RC and it works fine.
Using it with 4 x WD 1tb Caviar Black drives in raid 0+1 and working really well.
Have no absolutely no issues with and and have been using it for 2 months now.
Also I had some pre sales enquires and called StarTech direct and the technical bods are extremely knowledgeable and helpful.
