Top Product
operating system:
Not ApplicableJust installed in place of a 400 watt cheap PSU.
This PSU is nicely finished in gloss black.
Slighty smaller then my previous ATX unit.
Plenty of length in the leads.
Not sure why just one SATA lead but you can get spliters if needed.
Very quiet PSU which is 2nd most important for me.
Twin fans, one pushing air from the case into the PSU and one exhausting the air out of the PSU.
Both spin fairly slowly during normal use.
Seems to have plenty of punch (most important) since all my voltages are sitting on or above those required.
No Velcro ties though.
All in all good quality product and does the job.
36A on +3.3v
36A on +5v
20A on +12v
Pleased
operating system:
Windows VistaBought this to power a new system I was building, mainly to play games along with using media editing programs. I was really impressed by how quiet this PSU is and is nicely finished in a glossy black.
As someone ele previously said, it only comes with one SATA power cable so if you have two SATA devices you will need a converter (from the standard power connector to the sata). These can be picked up from eBay for a few pounds. The motherboard I orderd however came with a lead so I didn't need to buy one.
All in all, a top quality name and product, powers my system well. I'm running;
Windows Vista Home Premium
2GB DDR2 RAM
160GB SATA HDD
AMD X2 5600+
Arctic Cooling 600watt
This is a modern dual rail modular power supply so has TWO 12volt rails at 19amps each! 38amps total.
So where did he get 20amps from? I don't know
These are very good quality and recommended for all but the highest end ie 2 X 8800GTX
Good value and quiet
operating system:
Windows XPDidn't buy this here which is a shame as it cost 60 quid at pc world. But it is a great deal for £30, only downside is that it has only 1 pci-e connector but that has two on it so you could plug in a dual connector card. Very stable and no problems so far.
Superb PSU
operating system:
Windows VistaI cannot fault this PSU. I bought it after reading the reviews with a bit of doubt about the quietness to build a new computer. If you are considering buying a new PSU, do not look further than this Artic Power 600W. Very, very quiet.
8Pin connector
operating system:
Windows XPI have today recieved this power supply to go with an HD2900xt, the psu is fine, quiet ect. However, the advertised 8pin connector is not compatible with the card's slot. Whichever way I tried the two four pin connectors, there was always a square pin where I needed a round one. This will prevent me from overclocking my card, not a major issue But that is precisely why I bought this power supply.
Good Good
operating system:
Windows VistaGood psu, easy instillation, one downer is cable length though.
Ok like!
Box it came in was nice but I don't rate the overall quality of this PSU, black finish is OK but I find the quality of the cables/connectors are lacking....but I suppose it does what it says on the tin!
4 stars only because I thought the quality was lacking, but top marks for what its intended for!
Ideal for Low/Mid End Systems.
operating system:
Windows VistaPros:
- Glossy Black Appearance
Cons:
- Noise levels are still high compared to other High End PSU's.
- This is NOT Dual Rail 12v+, it only has a single rail of 20A which isn't really geared towards SLI let alone high end GPUS's, most high end recommend 26a +. However saying that the 700w appears to be Dual rail but doesn't state the total voltage running through both rails, so you can't really calculate the combined amps.
Overall: This power supply is good for you if you're not too worried about noise and just want to power us a basic system with a normal GPU. Other than that, if you're looking to run something like a 8800 GTS with this PSU or if you're looking for a really quiet PSU, don't bother!
Nice touches, poor length
operating system:
Windows VistaThe nice touches are a couple of velcro straps, some screws to mount it and the glossy black finish, oh and the PCI-E connectors.
1 SATA is not great.
The 6xMolex are only on 2 individual rails (3 each) and the length between connectors is very very poor, prepare to stack your drives on top of each other!
I have 5 hdd's, 2 DVD's, 2 drive coolers and 3 fans in a full tower, this PSU is no use to me because of the cable length!
