Kick-ass little speakers!

I ended up with a set of these when I was told the X-230s were out of stock, and about to be obsolete. I was a bit reluctant to take them, as the X-230s got rave reviews, and no-one seemed to have these yet.
Well, I needn't have worried - these are brilliant (with a capital F). The sub's got all the bass you'll ever need, and you can adjust it to complement the satellites, which give a very detailed sound - together, you get a cracking, warm, yet punchy sound. They seem to sound better the longer you have them running, and they're not shy of heavy, complicated music - I ran them in with Evanescence's 'Fallen' album, which rocks!
The iPod dock's a bit of a nonsense, but don't be put off - this little podule carries the volume control, and has a classy LED-lit power button.
Highly recommended.

Great speakers and work on Vista

Can only agree with the 1st two reviews regarding these speakers.

The satellites and sub aren't too big, so will fit on and under a small desk, but they can still deliver a big sound. Good bass that can really, really be turned up loud which compliments the satellites to give a nice full sound. After having these for about two weeks now I only have the bass turned up less than half for most listening that i do.

The ipod cradle is useful for me as it means i can connect up my minidisc without having to disconnect any wires. And obviously if you have an ipod it can go in there too.

Works fine with Vista. Don't understand why the other reviewer had trouble with them as they just plug into your headphone/audio-out socket.

For a little shy of 25 quid, can't recommend them enough.

let the sound do the talking!

I have always been a fan of logitech and these are no exception. the top is nice and crisp and once you've turned up the bass on the sub it will start shaking the walls! the ipod dock extra is a nice touch but it does feel a little flimsy and weak. the desk top remote control is yet another nice touch with a headphone input for those feeling extra lazy!

The truly amazing thing is the speakers which on initial inspection are plastic and VERY light but just let the sound do the talking!

Amazing for Value

I brought this to replace my bulky hifi speakers that were taking up a lot of desk space, all 3 speakers are small and still punch out a lot of sound which is clear and deep. The satalites are sitting at each corner and the sub fits in next to my printer under my laptop.

The 3 iPod adapters allow any ipod to sit upon the stand with the charger permanatly attached under the stand so you dont have to go looking for where the cables gone - very handy.

The fact that the subs volume control is on the back of the sub and not with the main volume control is a bit annoying but with everything else being so good for just 20 quid I'm not going to make too much out of it.

FANTASTIC SPEAKERS !

I TOOK A LONG HARD LOOK ABOUT WHEN I NEEDED NEW SPEAKERS AND THOUGHT THAT THESE OFFERED THE BEST 'BANG FOR BUCKS' AROUND.....IGNORE THE REVIEW THAT SAYS THESE ARE NOT THAT GREAT .....THESE SPEAKERS ARE FANTASTIC !EVERYONE WHO HAS HEARD THEM CAN'T BELIEVE THEY ONLY COST 25 QUID ( NO I DONT WORK FOR EBUYER OR LOGITECH ! )

I HAVE HAD THEM FOR NEARLY A WEEK AND HAVE FOUND THEM TO HAVE A GREAT RESPONSE FROM RIGHT ACROSS THE RANGE - WHETHER IT BE CLASSICAL ( VIVALDI ) OR ROCK ( FLOYD).....SERIOUSLY IF YOU ARE IN THE MARKET FOR NEW 2.1 SPEAKERS AND DONT WANT TO SPEND A FORTUNE THEN THESE WILL NOT DISAPOINT !FINALLY THE IPOD DOCK IS GREAT TOO APART FROM NOW MY 2 TEENAGERS WANT TO USE THE SPEAKERS ALL THE TIME TO LISTEN TO THEIR SOUNDS !

Fantastic for the money!

I've now had these for 2 days, and can honestly say they are brilliant!

Various reviews on the net say that they are far inferior to the much-loved x-230's, but that simply isn't the case! The inclusion of an MP3 player dock into the remote is definately a change from the norm, and a good one at that!

The bass is clear and well defined, although its downwards mounted driver means that it is slightly muffled when placed on carpet and the like.

My only gripe about the system (hence only 4 stars given) is that the clip in dock inserts for iPod, zune etc dont cater for the iPod touch - the 3.5mm out socket is slightly covered, meaning the connector cant fit. Easily rectified with a dremel, however.

Good on XP, but with Vista...oh dear!

Bought this speaker set when I was just running on XP and the speakers were great. Unfortunaly when I installed Vista onto my other hard drive it won't even recognise these speakers, is that just my computer being weird or are they not compatable with vista?

Dont expect the kind of miracles ppl on here seem to allude to. I reckon most 5* reviewers are blindly commenting to reassure themselves that they have purchased the best product.

Got these to replace my bedroom samsung LCD telly speakers, a bit of xbox and a bit of music through xbox.

Bass is good, top end is adequate, middle is lacking. Volume is low. These need to be cranked up, which leads to horrible noticable RF crosstalk (you cant sleep with these on but idle). Low frequency hum is ever present at any volume, probably from the internal PSU.

Good for the price though, although I wished I spent double.
