Unwrapped box, and 20 seconds later its plugged in and ready to go. Excellent, small, but fairly substantial - don't think it would break easily.

And already backed up all my useful documents!

So all in all, great buy.

Opened the box, plugged in the cables and hooked it up to the PC - all in working order in seconds (literally!).

I have always stuck with Seagate and always will do, their hard-drives are by far the best and are incredibly reliable. After working as a PC engineer and dealing with hard-drives as the main part of my job, I could not recommend Seagate HDs enough! Looks really nice too (only problem is I have now changed the lights in my PC to orange to match! - such a perfectionist!)

Brought this drive, very fast delivery well done Ebuyer.

Nice sleak design, really love the feature of the strip light, that pluses when the drive is being accessed, small, light.

Well worth the money!!!

Looks Great and really is just plug and play, The Software that comes with it is also very straight forward to use too. Extremely quiet just sits in the corner of the desk, for the price i don't believe you will get a better drive, buy with confidence, well done ebuyer another victory!!

Bought this on Sunday using 5 day delivery, and it turns up Tuesday lunchtime - brilliant service (why aren't more companies as good as Ebuyer in this regard?)

I've just plugged it in, straight out of the box, it took less than 10 seconds for XP to recognise and install and now I have 250GB of extra space at my command. It's inaudible above my (fairly noisy) desktop PC, comes with backup software if you want it and pretty much does exactly what it says on the tin.

If you're worried about such things, mine differs from the photo a bit, being dark brown with an orange logo and no strip down the front but personally it can look sky blue pink for all I care, as long as it works properly.

Now I can reformat my desktop's problematic 2nd disc drive without having to reinstall everythig from scratch, and then I can back everything up with no more need for hundreds of CDs.

Technology today!

addendum to my review...
review by: Anonymous os: Windows XP

... my mistake, it's not missing a strip down the side as it's actually a rather funky LED that lights up when you've plugged it in (I didn't notice earlier because I had it facing away from me). Definitely orange though!

Impressive drive

I bought this drive as I needed a backup storage drive but under a tight budget and this one seemed to be good for the price.

The drive itself is easy to set up, also comes with backup utility software for MAC and PC that you can set for what days you want to perform a back up of particular file(s)/drive(s).

Also comes with the usual user manual, also manuals are on the drive itself in PDF format.

The cases light glows when the drive is being accessed and when idle the orange light sits idle, also the case itself doesn't feel hot but rather warmish, which to me the drive is being given plenty of ventilation to allow the heat to escape.

The power adaptor that comes with it, you may need to swap it with the UK connector as mines had the Euro 2 pin connector connected.

What you get:

The hard drive, power connector, UK plug connector, USB cable, manual and a Seagate 5 year as standard for peace of mind.

Plugged it in, recognised immediately, no need for drivers or anything,

I'm running Mandriva Linux 2008.1, and it's able to read/write to the drive without any problems (Still formatted as NTFS).

Overall, fantastic value for money, looks pretty good and the glowing orange light thingy looks really cool :P
