With this motherboard you can clock the CPU very easily - this involves increasing the FSB up to 400MHZ(The CPU is unlocked but already uses the highest multiplier). Increase the CPU/Memory voltage slightly and your away! This will obviously overclock the memory too (Corsair 2*1G). This is by far the easiest overclock i have ever done with this board.
Performance exceeds all Athlon chips(including FX) and all intel chips up to the entry level quad core CPU(where Sandra reports similar results). CPU temp rises to 55'C under full load and 27'C idle(depending on room temp).
This is overkill for a games maching(you would need a 8800GTX for that) but for audio/video compression/encoding/editing, this is brilliant.
Remember M/Board specs - only 1 IDE channel so i changed my DVD drive to a sata model as this supports 6 on board with a further 2 at rear(eSATA).
p5k-e worth knowing before you tear your hair out.

Windows Vistabought this mobo a few days go. first thinh to remember is that you need to flash your bios before you can get this to work with a new cpu. download it from asus onto a usb isk then use alt +f2 to open the utility. get the most recent rom.
also i got a chassis intrusion message that stoped me from booting. asus didnt supply a jumper for the chasis intusion pins, you need to do this. before this remove cmos batter, remove jumper from next to battery to other pin(from 2-3, to 1-2) then reinsert battery.
all in all not too bad to get going. now im running a core2uo 2.33 - 3.20, 2gig ram, 2tb hdd, 256graphics beautifully fast.
this is a good motherboard with good overclocking capability. worth the trouble.

Excellent Mobo

Windows VistaThis motherboard is truly excellent. Arguably one of the most overclocking friendly motherboard on the market (thanks to the G0 stepping on the Exx50). I've managed to get my E6750 to 3.55Ghz and my DDR2-800 RAM to 1066 thanks to the wizardry that ASUS include on the chipset. Remember that this mobo doesnt support DDR3 and to update the bios as soon as you get it because (at least mine didn't) it doesnt support the new core revisions (FSB1333 and G0 stepping). and even though it will boot fine you will get an annoying error message in the POST setup. Great buy and another piece of first rate service from ebuyer.
Bios
This board came with the very latest bios 0603 and was very easy to get up and running with a Q6600 + 2gb Geil pc 6400...Elixir pc8500 also works a treat...so far so very good:)

Not ApplicableI'm a first time builder- the motherboard was the most worrying part. I was very concerned about electrostatic damage so I was pleasantly surprised that the Asus P5K-e was well packaged with tons of cables and a huge manual.
It's not unnecessarily huge either, they've taken almost everything into consideration and laid it out well. I had no trouble installing it into my case and wiring it up to a modular power supply.
Great work Asus and a nice price- the only 5 star review I've ever given. I will be buying again.
PS. nVidia 8800gts cards cover 2 of the 6 SATA ports, minor flaw in the design but you can use one of the supplied flat SATA plugs.

Windows XPfor my first build this was a nice easy mobo and easy instructions. the overclocking is easy even my 10 year old brother can do it. love the board but the wifi hasnt got a very strong signal but that might just be my system. running my intel E 6600 really well.

Good mb but remember you need PC2-5300 (or above) RAM
Got the mb to replace an old asus one I had (P5ND2-SLI), but could not get it to post (no error bleeps). The MB had power, fans whirled away, but nothing. Pulled the components off, leaving RAM, CPU, and PSU - still nothing. Pulled the RAM off and MB bleeped.
Should have realized I needed at least PC2-5300 RAM, once I bought this it booted fine.
Latest BIOS seems to be 0901 dated 14/11/07.

Windows VistaU lot must have got a bad batch cus i have a 8800gts 640mb core 2 duo e6750 4 gig of ram and this motherboard and i couldnt be happier i have a samsung hard drive cant member which one but my pc is wicked fast my brother has a raptor hard drive and a quad core and mines just as fast i havnt overclocked anything yet but my cousin has the same board and he got his e6750 to 3.7 ghz!! this motherboard rules (if u dnt have a faulty one)
