Antec TruePower Quattro 1000W PSU
review by: Anonymous rating:

operating system: Not Applicable

Those who own a nVidia GeForce 8800 GTX (or two, or four) considering the line should be very careful to get the second revision of the line. The first revision has some kind of bug that make nVidia's Power Sentry alarm go off on every boot and underclock the GPU. The system is usable, but graphics performance suffers greatly. The driver thinks that the card is not getting sufficient power when it actually is. The problem is in the PSU, not the card or drivers. Antec will happily replace first revision units that may still be in the wild.

i have not purchased this ps, i gave it five stars to compensate for the Muppet that rated it 1 star for no apparent reason

Good PSU

Just purchased this PSU, not only does it look great in your PC (Racing stripes) it packs out alot of power and its very quiet, I can hardly hear the thing. Only thing was it didn't have the right power cables for my MIC In/MIC out on the top of my case. Those looking at SLI products or the future should purchase this to ensure all the power is getting to all your hardware.

An absolutley awesome PSU, Whenever I build custom PC's for other people the only thing that I have ever had problems with was the PSU... BUT not with this one, it is amazing quality, if you want to have hassle free installation and use then this is the PSU for you, works great with a AM2+ system. I am about to order a second one now =D

Buzzing noise from psu
review by: crawford pritchard operating system: Windows Vista

Not sure If i'm just unlucky or maybe there are more in the field, but I'm getting a loud buzzing noise from mine. I think it may be a leaking capacitor or a very loose coil.

Still a great power suply though and worth 5 stars, My luck stinks though :(

Bought this to replace my Antec Neo 550HE Modula PSU, in preperation to upgrade my GPU to a GTX280.I am only disapointed with the level of noise. My system was almost inaudible before this upgrade. The fan on this PSU is the only fan that I can hear.
