Better than I had any right to expect

Really the title says it all!

There are two sorts of speaker those which simply make a noise and those which play music. Despite their modest price and small size, the S220 play music very nicely indeed. OK, they're never going to fill the Albert Hall like a symphony orchestra but for a small room they make a decent enough racket.

They came full boxed with all instructions so I'm not sure why they are "OEM" you plug the small speakers into the sub and trail the little remote onto you desk. The remote has sockets to plug in a mike and a pair of 'phones (if your PC doesn't have front mounted sockets this can be useful). The units are nicely finished in "piano" black with the sub in matt-black. Use the remote as a volume and on/off switch for the speakers.

Cheap cheerful and excellent value.

Super sound

Bought these to attach to my (NICAM) TV, which has a "buzzy" speaker, and never sounded that great anyway. They replaced a similar "extra value" 2+1 set that I'd been using, and I'm amazed by the improvement in sound quality. Just goes to show the difference it makes getting a good trusted brand rather than the cheapest stuff. The volume is not ear-shattering, nor is the bass likely to shake the foundations, however the sound is natural and the background music no longer drowns out the dialogue! My son now wants another set of these to replace the Labtec set on his games/music PC, they sound so much better (and cost roughly the same!). A very good fifteen quid's worth and (unless you want really high quality sound or a home cinema setup) all you need to pay.

There great speakers for the price!. The sound is very clear. If you like to listen to your music quite loud like i do then these are the ones to get!. When the volume is on about half way you can feel the floor start to vibrate and when you put the woofer volume higher the floor really starts to shake!!. The volume controller that can come down your desk is very help full and easy to use. great speakers five stars!.

No one believes me when I say that these cost 15 quid. Most people guess around the fifty mark.

I use them on my PC and they produce high quality sound and the sub makes the ground rumble when turned up enough. I never seem to need them at more than about 20 per cent volume!

The little remote is very useful but I will mention that the headphone jack does not allow volume control from the remote. My headphones have their own volume dial so it's not a problem for me.

As mentioned elsewhere, they come in a cardboard box with instructions and everything. Probably the only difference from retail is the absence of an outer card sleeve with glossy finish and pictures etc., so who cares?

These speakers are absolutely unebeliably amazing for the money you pay!

They have good bass (which can be adjusted with a knob on the back of subwoofer). They have a great finish and look really good. Great for a gamer but not so good for music. I have the whole system wired up to my Hi-Fi so I get both sets of speakers coming on which sounds good. I would reccomenend to anyone.

What a plum!!
review by: Mark Orton os: Windows XP

Dear All, I bought these speakers from a local pc fair as they sounded good, had a decent sub, and the remote was very very handy. I paid 25 quid for them which at the time I thought was ok, and as they are more expensive in other high street outlets I thought they'll do for me!!! Well I checked on Ebuyer this morning whilst ordering a new hard drive and guess what.... they are a tenner cheaper!!!!!!!!!!!! What a plum, should've gone to fkn specsavers... Look great next to my Acer 22inch widescreen monitor with it's nice shiny black bevelled edge, the speakers are also nice shiny black with a bevelled edge so I'm chuffed. Plenty of volume without distortion, nice deep bass from the sub. Buy now before you are disappointed and they sell out!!

i got these AGES ago when i built my first computer, just as a cheap temp job while i waited to get paid again. but i must say, WOW, i havent botherd upgrading. i only use for mp3's and they arent audiophile quallity, but for the price these things are immense. slight distortion at full volume, but turning the bass down a tad sorts that out.

A little gem

Very good sound with these and that is the priority I guess, but the real joy for me is that fact that the sub is quite small, yet does it's job, and the clincher is the remote control.

Put the sub and speaker where you want but the control is right by your monitor. At this price level I would suggest it is as good as it gets.
