os: Windows Vista

Recived this puppy this morning, filled with:

- Intel core2 E6750
- 2 Gigs DDR2 800MHz
- Sapphire X1950Pro 256MB, the 512mb wont fit without modification

runs very cool cpu 26c, system 28c when idle

all works fine, just a few things to consider before purchase, it only comes with 1 SATA cable thus you have to purchase extra for more drives. and the jumpers are set to internal video output and will need to be changed before the pci-e card will output a video signal.

Top Box!
review by: Anonymous os: Not Applicable

I got one of these with the following parts, next day delivery but Citylink managed to mislay two of the boxes so it turned up a few days late. NOT Ebuyers fault and customers services were incredibly professional about the issue so I will be using Ebuyer still.

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 - 124869Western Digital WD3200AAKS 320GB SATAII 16MB Cache - 124735NEC Optiarc 7173A - 117549Kingston 2GB KIT (2X1GB) DDR2 667MHz/PC2-5300 CL5 Non Ecc 1.8V - 91124 Samsung SM206BW 20" TFT Monitor Widescreen 1600x1050 - 125098

This is the second Shuttle XPC I have built, SN21G5 was the first, all went together with no issues. I have Vista Business 64bit and the only issue I have is I cannot get the things to go into Vista sleep (S3) mode, just never wakes up and you have to pull the power cord to help it along.

Following my S3 Vista sleep issue:

"I cannot get the thing to go into Vista sleep (S3) mode, just never wakes up and you have to pull the power cord to help it along"

I have resolved this issue by downgrading the BIOS to SG33S10U. Both SG33S10X and SG33S10Y have this Vista sleep (S3) issue.

Again this is a top box and runs Vista Business 64bit without issues.

will this over heat Quickly if you have the Quad 6600, 4gb ram on it and can you fit in the stock heatsink for the Q6600 in it?

You should be able to use two screens through the dual interface but you would only be able to use VGA and either HDMI or DVI with the adapter.

HDMI should also carry sound to your screen. Make sure you select this in you OS settings as the output.
