Fantastically cute little gadget
os:
Max OSXI bought one of these for more than the current price, and another, later, for a relative, at about half the current price (I went back to check I wasn't mistaken - it was less than six quid, plus VAT, whereas at the moment it's over twelve inclusive). Even at twelve quid, this is extremely appealing. The 2G card is quick enough, faster than many a full-sized card, and the reader is just sublime.
The reader works with both microSD and microSDHC cards, it occupies startlingly little space and weighs nothing, and yet it still manages to be quicker (on a Mac) than any other SD reader I have to hand - loads quicker than my multi-format reader, a shade quicker than my dedicated fullsize SD reader (tested using the same microSD card in an adapter).
Along with a bunch of microSD cards, this is about the most compact possible combo for travelling with a camera, and with a card left in it it makes a very smart USB drive.
On the (slight) downside, the cover doesn't offer much protection from dust or anything, and makes the whole thing a surprising amount bigger. That's not to say it's in any way big, exactly, just that it's surprising how much smaller the actual unit is than its already miniscule cover! I suspect the cover might have been added simply to give you some hope of not losing it, and being bright orange certainly helps in that regard. The keyring fitting is perhaps flimsy-ish, and the attachment loop sticks out about two millimetres, lengthening the amount which protrudes when it's plugged in by, oh, a whopping 16% (i.e 14.7mm instead of the 12.7mm it would be without the lanyard loop). Did I mention this thing is awfully small?
It gets suprisingly warm quite quickly in use - I guess there's not exactly much material to warm up, or surface area to dissipate the heat. It doesn't get uncomfortably hot, and it doesn't seem to hurt at all.
It has no flashing lights or anything, and it'd be easy to forget you've left it plugged into your laptop - again, the dangling orange cover helps there, but if you want the ultimate in compact readers, remove the cover - given the size and shape of a USB connector, this would be pretty much impossible to make any smaller. At all.
For the price I paid, this was an absolute steal. At the current price, it's very, very good, though if you want a bigger card anyway, go for the reader as a separate item and get a 4G SDHC card to use it with. Or do what I did and get both :-)
Although its immediate appeal is its ridiculous smallness and cuteness, it's no mean performer and doesn't disappoint in any way. Top marks.

I got two. They are really good.
They work in my Nokia phone, and my camera (via adapter not supplied).
Plugged into Vista straight away, nice and simple.
You can walk about all day with the 2gb card stuffed in the little reader.
I do have it on my keyring, but am concerned about dirt in the USB end, so may yet tape that end up... wait and see!
Good

Windows XPArrived promptly. I actually brought it for my camera (you need to buy a seperate adaptor if you want to use it like that). Works very well as a USB pen as well. Casing is a bit flimsy and could get dust in it. Working well so far (1 month).
