Quiet Quick and cheap

Windows XPI bought 2 for my own new pc build 11/07. They are very quiet and cannot be faulted. I will buy more.

Windows XPAfter i replaced my slave drive, which died on me, i decided to replace my boot drive as that was 2 years old and i couldnt afford to lose the data on that too.
I decided to opt for a sata drive as my mb had sata connections and i had never used a sata drive before, i just wanted to see if it was any different.
It was easy to install, my system seems quicker, it seeks quickly and is quite quiet, i am very happy with this drive and would recommend it.
Not a quiet drive
Don't buy this drive if you need peace & quiet. The seek noise is high. Unfortunately there is no Maxtor Acoustic Management on this particular model. Other than that the performance is good. One other thing is this is one of those compact slimline drives, about half the thickness of a normal SATA II drive.
Failure

Windows VistaI have had 2 of these drives fail within 6 months on 2 different pc's. Don't think i will have any more
