Product Reviews
FYI
os:
Windows Vistagot this after i upgraded to a 8800gt sli rig there was no reviews and was hoping it would be ok and silent as most ups make alot of noise some even in standby like the belkins.
This unit is silent in standby, looks well made has replacable battery, and the screen shows volts and charge and general status with a smilely face etc, ive put a small bit of black tape over the power button as it has a bright blue light which i hate but seems all electrial goods manufacturers these days have the idea everyone likes them :( (minor issue)
it can handle any pc with ease for a good length of time my pc uses a 800watt psu draws about 500ws, in backup mode with power cut it makes a small transformer buzz wich is fine all ups ive used do this but this is by far the best with great price.
comes with a cable to link to pc wich alows it to shut down the pc safly and shows load of pc.
the software from what i can see allows network monitoring etc aswell.
sockets on the back are standerd kettle lead types.
hope this info helps.
PLEXUS 1000VA UPS Software Installation
os:
Not ApplicableThis is a great piece of kit. Very easy to install, however, you will need one of those kettle type sockets (IEC Re-wireable cable plug Part No. 23-0120), to make a connection to your UPS.
If you have problems installing the software, just copy the Windows folder to your desktop and select setup.exe to install from there. Once you have installed the software, make sure you select the option to connect to the UPS using the USB link within the setting.<br />
Does a good job
os:
Windows XPDevice is heavy and solidly built (better than the Belkin Gold it replaces). I found it easy to install (the instruction leaflet is written in comical English!) and almost fully charged when unpacked. The monitoring software has helpful displays - a test after battery fully charged worked fine. Very good value for money, and almost essential where I live, which suffers from frequent if short mains outages (I use it to protect my PC and telephone answering machine).
