This is an excellent processor, among the best you can buy. If you are planning on getting a new processor then remember to get an E6x50 series as these have the new core stepping revision and support DDR3 1333Mhz as well as the 1333MHz FSB strap. to eke maxi power out of this you want to match the speed of your RAM with the FSB (i.e. buy DDR3 [if you have a spare £250]). Also this will only work in intel P35 or (new) nvidia 680i chipsets.

Having been an AMD fan for many years, I was concerned to move over to an Intel processor. No need, its fast, and easy to install. I added a 8800 gts at the same time and from my old 4200x2 and 7800 gs AGP system, my games run many many times faster. I can now play Dirt and Lost planet on 1280*1024 everything maxed out and get good fps. I whole heartedly recommend this processor and GPU config.

Chip Set
review by: michael holmes os: Windows Vista

This cpu will only work with intels p35 or nforce n680 chip set.
For the cpu to achieve its full potential it needs ddr3 memory. It will work with ddr2 and some of the new main boards will take ddr2 and ddr3 but not simultaneously.
Come on e-buyer we are waiting for you to stock the new Asus Boards...........

Gamers CPU of Choice

This card is so quick, and so overclockable.

Have it running currently at 3200MHz which i know isnt fast but puts it faster than the next chip up with stable temperatures of 38°C at idle and not much more under full load. It cools down quickly as well.

I would recommend using only with a P35 Motherboard (im using Asus P5K-E wifi/deluxe) and with DDR2 8500 Reaper ram.

With a little work, people have got this chip to run at around 3920Mhz, but you have to be really gutsy for that frequency. 3.2GHZ suits me just fine.

Ive currently got Orthos, Itunes, NRivatuner, ad-aware and AVG scanner running in the background. NO SLOWDOWN.

GOD DAMN THIS CPU IS FAST ! ! !

best £120 i ever spent.

1333 FSB
review by: Anonymous os: Not Applicable

It is best to check the manufacturers website for compatible processors. The Asus P5N-E(125082) is capable of 1333 Mhz FSB, which is noted on their website.

Compatibility with Older Motherboards
review by: Anonymous os: Linux

This will work fine with older ASUS motherboards. They will allow the motherboard to run in the slower speed, which will allow you to update the bios giving it the faster speed.

I have gone from a P4 HT 2.6Ghz to this and i am amazed by the speeds this things produces. You can defintely tell the difference with 2 cores compared to one and running games and burning dvd's are now no problem whatsoever.

If you want a processor for a decent price then look no further than the E6750.

bought this like a month ago, and have been very delighted with the performance ive been getting.

I have overclocked mine upto 3.4Ghz, 425FSB, and replaced the stock cooler, to a more efficient one(zalman 9500). temperatures are about 30-34 IDLE, and 42MAX on load.
