This is an extremtly handy gadet, bought to recover data from a laptop harddrive.

Easy to use, simply plug one end into the hardrive, the other into a usb cable, wait a bit as the other computer finds the drive and your done - plugged into another laptop with no other usb devives attatched

copying speednot to bad 3.5gigabytes took about 20mins

usuure why you'd want one for normal use, but for data recovery etc this device is VERY usuefull - quite litterally saved my bacon as 4 weeks of vital data where on the drive!

This device seems to be working very well, Connected it to my 750GB hard drive and it is running without any problems.

I am using windows ME and XP pro with no problems. No drivers needed just Plug and use.

With 2.5 drives power comes from the USB and with 3.5 drives there is a power adapter that plugs into the mains.

I worked out the box on xp without installing drivers on disk supplied.

It recognised 2 HDD I tried but if unpluged takes a few sec's to recognise this fact when pluged in again.....

This worked straight out of the box with XP and a 3.5" HDD. I was able to format the second partition and coppied all the files I wanted with no problems. Much easier than having to open the case up and fiddle around with jumpers and ribbon cables, if it works as well with a 2.5" HDD later this week I'm going to be over the moon. I personally think the power supply alone was worth the money.

This is a great device; I never even knew I wanted one until it was recommended along with the hard disk I bought.

Plugged it in, plugged the HD into it along with the supplied power pack & cables and it just worked; no drivers, no weird configuration - one extra HD ready to be used as whatever.

The transfer rate appears only to be limited by my HD rather than the adaptor.

This is one great value little device; you never know when you might need one.

This is a brilliant kit, worth every penny. Plugged into my XP comp & it detected instantly. The power adaptor alone is worth the money...very useful for my CD64 backup unit ;-)

If i worked in a computer store this package would be VERY useful.

Used to retrieve data from a poorly sick 2.5 HD. What a little life saver - well happy does exactly as it says on the tin!
