Installed in around 1 hour.

First off Fantastic Value for Money even at RRP and with ebuyer throwing in a couple of extra cams its almost a give away . What with 3 months free access too . Most importantly build quality seems very good and it works really well especially considering the cost of the product. Its ideal for a basic home system IMO.

To answer questions above.

Yes you can use it without the homesight remote access registration using email alerts to a remote email address for example . Each Motion trigger sends emails to defined addresses with video or picture attachment , or just an alert if you wanted.

You could use your mobile to pop for that email I guess . I use my PDA to get them and its fine.

Additionally I am using mine over a remote desktop connection to a host PC to view things which is OK , but I think I will go for the registered service as I expect quality to be better.

As for conflicting with existing WiFi thats up for debate so far as you can exclude a single channel but not set a channel explicitly. I haven't had a problem and the wireless signal seems good even in places my Laptop sometimes has a problem or two.

All in All I rate this package as a good entry level system that does what it claims to do and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Would be nice if the cameras were battery driven not recharging and perhaps smaller .. I am going to look at adding a standard IP camera which you should be able to do to see if that is better.

Oh and a few more sensors would have been nice ( for a few more quid) 1 is not enough so Im off to find where to get them .. probably for 100 quid :)

Hope that helps ppl above.

Hello all, i am not sure if you can use this system for local monitoring and control using the supplied software. Can someone confirm that he got the system running without an internet connection or any other type of connection (either local or remote?). I would expect to be able to monitor all cameras simultaneously and to also receive notifications of event triggerings and also control the various other wireless devices that can be also connected to the system. Because its not clear to me and i would expect others to also wonder the same thing.

Hi. The Homesight system can be used locally but you will need to have an internet connection and e-mail account to use the remote notification features. So in answer to your question about the need for notifications of event triggerings, it sounds like you will need to have an active internet connection and a valid e-mail address. Please also note that without the Internet connection you won't be able to use the 3 months worth of free access to the Myhome247 Remote Service.

Regarding the Camera surveillance, the software layout allows you to view one camera feed at a time. You will have to manually change the camera view.

I was just wondering if you HAVE to go with the Homesight option or if yo can simply use the cameras to link to your own pc via a wireless router?

The Cameras are specifically designed for use with the Homesight system. You will not be able to connect them separately.

Working with vista
review by: Sean Roberts os: Not Applicable

now I don't know if it was just me but having read the comments before i downloaded the vista update from the website.<br />

However I couldn't get the system to install on two diffrent vista pc's one with ultimate and one with home premium so i tryed on a xp pro machine with the updated software and it still wouldn't work !! I eventually tried on the same xp machine with the install cd that came with the package and it worked first time so i had to wipe vista off a machine and install xp to get it working, it now works very well and indeed.
Now its working i'm very pleased with it and of course ebuyer for their delivery ordered at 7pm and delivered at 8:30 am next day.

I was very surprised to see how cheap this system was as a friend has it, E-Buyer are offering the kit with two free cameras and 3 months FREE remote access. It was easy to set up and very simple to use, the fact I can log onto the system while I'm at work is great, peace of mind for less then £80!!

Thanks slot E-buyer!
