It's small it's cheap and so far works in a fashion.

It does not like being plugged into either my 2 metre or 3 metre usb extension leads. The lead that comes with it is about 300mm long which doesn't ( for me) reach down the back of the pc. I have it plugged into a passive hub that has a 300mm lead on it and all appears well.

This device will only work with ONE card plugged in at a time. so you can't transfer directly from one card type to another and you must remember to unplug any before plugging in another type.

My xp machine took 5 minutes to recognise the reader ? I also had to do a reboot !?

Because I cant put it where I want it on my desk because it wont work through an extension lead I cant give 5 stars but only 4

Maybe Unreliable
review by: Anonymous os: Windows Vista

I bought one of these and it worked flawlessly for a few months but now the MS slot fails to recognise a card so I bought one of these

and I will see how it goes.

Small, cheap, but unreliable

I have now had two of these things fail. The first was DOA and would not read any media types. The second worked OK for a few weeks, then the chip has overheated and even fogged the blue plastic with the heat. No. 2 is now dead. Ebuyer's RMA policy is at least swift and hassle-free, but I would recommend getting something else.

Seems to work well under Windows 2000, but I could not get it to work at all under Windows XP SP3 (tried three different PCs). Asked for a refund...

XD Cards?
review by: Anonymous os: Not Applicable

Could someone please confirm whether this item does indeed take a XD card?

It is not mentioned in the specs but another reviewer mentioned it, so would be good if someone else can confirm this.
