Creative zen

I brought this to replace a Ipod nano which I had major issues with ( itunes mainly).

And its briliant ,sound quality is great, video playback is crisp. (320x240 avi )

Once the drivers are installed it becomes a drag and drop affair through zens creative explorer, which is basically a polished windows explorer window. Beacuase of this its very easy to use.

I wanted a drag and drop player, The software automatically converts video files to the correct format when you drag it over.

Best mp3 player ive ever used.

Zen MP3

Simply brilliant, sound is excellent, menu system intuitive, screen very clear. Video + photo's are excellent and the software to convert them is so easy. I had a Sansa 8gb MP3 player before the battery stopped recharging and I thought that was good this is in a different class. Would very highly recomend it especially as it has an expansion slot for SD cards that are as cheap as chips now! I've never used an ipod but I think I would prefer the creative labs Zen to be honest, plus its a lot cheaper. Plus the earphones provided seem to be excellent as well and if you get the rubber protective case virtually unbreakable.

Never stopped using it since i got it, great for work at break times , watching your favorite series or a film. If you turn it off half way through a film , when you go back to the film it stores that point so you can just press play and away you go again. Volume is loud , and it looks fantastic , going to buy a leather cover for mine. You can get an 8gb card on here for 15 quid

. Its totally pointless having a 100gb ipod cos when youve watched something you delete it .A big thumbs up from me , the picture quality is amazing 10/10.

Superb Player

The choice was between a Zen and an Ipod. As the Zen allows you to extend the memory via SD cards, the choice was easy.

The player is small, simple to use (both for compiling and playback) and the sound quality is excellent. The FM radio is also surprisingly good.

The only criticism I have is over the length of the USB cable. Why is it so short as to be virtually useless? A bizarre decision by creative; albeit easy to rectify.

Overall a brilliant, flexible and easy to use player and therefore highly recommended.

*** Outstanding! Beats the ipod hands down....I sold my ipod after I got this!!! ***

This is an outstanding little multimedia player. It plays the MP3s, Video files (picture is crisp clear as well

which makes the viewing more appealing). It has a Radio with preset storage which is exellent as I listen ot the

radio alot and my ipod didnt have this. Dont get my me wrong I had an ipod video 30gb and it worked perfect but I

simply didnt need the 30gb storage as I enjoyed changing the songs and videos on the player.

So when I bought a 4Gb ZEN (I got mines in a special offer on Amazon for 54 quid!) that coupled with a 4Gb SDHC

(High Capacity SD Card) boosted my little ZEN up to 8Gb! All for less than 70 quid!

I sold my ipod video for 150 quid!!! and I have never looked back since. This is a fantastic piece of electronic

equipment and the size is comparible to the new range ipods, its hard to believe that its almost the size of a

credit card and packs so many features!

Well done Creative for bring this ZEN player to the market. At a very competitive price it surely competes in an

equal arena with the ipods.

5-Star Product. With the SD slot as an added luxury so you dont even need to connect the player to your PC to

change MP3 or Videos on it, just remove the SD card and plug that in instead, once you've copied the new songs or

videos to the SD card, just pop it back in the ZEN!

WHAT A PIECE OF KIT!

This little thing is in one word AMAZING! It is so much better looking and functions better than ANY iPOD ever! I am (and I am being honest) a person who point blank refuses to buy an iPOD because I hate everything about them, including the styling (and that is meant to be thier bonus!). This little player has an excellent quality screen and the sound it produces with the in box headphones is tremendous!

Battery life is good (25 hours for music and 5 hours for video) and it is so flexible. You can choose your own theme or have any picture of your choice as the background picture (nice touch).

You can expand the memory (FINALLY) using SDHC cards (I put a 4gb one in to bump mine up to 8gb) but I think this is where the player falls down. The music and videos on the card do not integrate into your music folder or video folder on the player itself making the media library miss it all together, you have to go into the card and choose manually. Other than that this is a brilliant player and I reccommend it to everyone! GET ONE NOW!

If anyone out there is thinking of buying an iPOD nano or for that matter any iPOD then DON'T DO IT!

I decided to buy this after seeing it in a high street store for 89 pounds. superb video quality, and that was enough for me to buy it. Anyways when it promptly arrived, I was also blown away by the mp3 sound quality aswell as everything else it has to offer. ultra fast menu skipping. You can create as many playlists as you like, also you can choose albums by album. Basically it has the same functions as a home pc. Battery seems to last forever. Brilliant. :-)

Were has this little gizzmo been all my life. so easy to use and the video and music quality is outstanding. I added an 4GB Veho SDHC mem card without problem, great for storing my life on. I can not say a bad word about it, although a case to protect it would have been nice, But thats an extra. Anyways you will not be dissapointed....

Great for the older generation!!

This media player is great. Always had creatives in the past, great value for money compared with the other make which gets thrown in your face everywhere you go.

Bought two of these just recently for grandparents. One is 71 who had it for her birthday and gets on fine with it mainly for MP3 player.

The latest one was for my mother in laws 80th birthday. She has picked it up great and thinks its wonderful too.

So if thinking of the older generation, then ideal, and a wonderful gift for them to view short videos and pictures of their families.

Highly recommended for the price.

Only con- not particularly good radio reception.

Nice product, but could be improved

Bought this on impulse because it seemed to have all I wanted over iPods. FM radio and memory expansion. The display is excellent, the feel is good. Well constructed. It can crash (playing video) without any handy means of switching it off. (So have a very small pin handy to reset it.) The volume ranges from 0-25 but only 20-25 is useful. I do wish the range was better calibrated. 0-20 is pretty useless. Menu and controls are a bit clumsy and an animated graphic equaliser display would be nice. Ability to completely switch off display to conserve battery would be nice too. It still beats the ipods due to radio and expansion...
