Nice Bit of Kit
os:
Windows VistaExceedingly nice bit of kit. As I have come to expect from Freecom (this is my fourth item from that manufacturer, all first-rate so far) this USB Flash Drive looks and feels very well made, and worked immediately with no problems. I must say I have no use for the preinstalled “Carry It Easy” trial software, but some people might, and it’s no great hardship to simply delete it off. Also, the design of the product is exceptional, as it looks both sleek and stylish as well as utilitarian and practical, and I have already had several people ask me where I got it. That coupled with the size and low price, and I am already thinking of buying a few more!
Much Cheapness
the first 4GB stick I bought was £70 so this is excellent value. I can get 300 MP3s on aswell as my entire photo album and it is nice and compact so easy to carry. well worth the £24 i paid.
Top piece of kit
os:
Windows XPWorks on XP fine.
technical specs say read 8Mb/s max and write 7Mb/s max but tested mine and i got 4.33Mb/s write (nah its ok) and 14.1Mb/s read excellent!!!.
Also tried HDtach which reported a read speed of 14.7Mb/s
Write speed a little slower than spec and the case can flex a little bit.
But 4Gb for just under a tenner. Can't and wont grumble.
Excellent quality pendrive
4GB of storage for less than tenner? this is an excellent build quality pendrive. don't hesitate to buy this
Perfect
os:
Windows XPI bought the 8GB version of this - looks exactly the same. some people before asked if you could attach a lead or string or whatever so they wouldn't lose it. There is a small rectangular hole at the end (about 4mm by 1.5mm) so you could tie it to something etc. There is also an activity LED in between the 'freecom' logo and the hole on the end. The actually capacity of the 8GB drive is 7.67GB once you remove all the user manuals etc put on it. You can feel it flexing a little if you squeeze it so the case isn't that strong but for the price you can't complain. Also the lid is fairly stiff to remove when compared with other memory sticks but then you could say at least it won't fall off.
Cheap and brilliant
os:
Windows XPWell worth its price. usb 2.0 as well so the transfer speed is fast!
Great Little Drive
os:
Windows VistaSmall, Light, Fast and nice and cheap. this is an awesome little drive!
It ok
os:
Windows XPIt works fine, I thought the design wasn't as nice as online pictures, when i recieved it. Its a bit thick.
The software that comes bundled is a free trial but was useless to me anyway.
Good point --> its got a hole at the back so you can slot it in to a key ring.
Slight issues with Vista
os:
Windows VistaGreat memory stick for a great price if you want budget and low performance.
Writing to it takes a rather long time and it is too slow to be used by vista performance boost functionality. If you want to use it for that I suggest a more expensive stick as vista does not allow this one.
Works but fails on Vista Readyboost
os:
Windows VistaBrought this to use on Vista readyboost. Fails because Vista says it is too slow. I am now using my Cosair 4M stick and it works perfectly. The moral of the story is, if you want to use Vista Readyboost, go with the Cosair, not this Freecom. Freecom works ok for everything else. Will give 3 star. Running Vista SP1.
