Great Value Board
os:
Windows VistaThis board is the dogs cahoolas for price and quality.
I run this board with Athlon 64-6000+ CPU, 4 GB Kingston Value Ram, and western Digital 500GB Hard Drive
My Vista performance Index is;
Cpu 5.5
Ram 5.9
Graphics are 3.9 and 3.2 (Not that bad at all for onboard)
Hard disk 5.8
This has to be the easiest board I have set up in a long time, vista 64 installed no problem, (Tip) go to bios and set sata-native, no need for a driver disk.
I rate this board a good 5 stars, only concern is the northbridge chip does run HOT, I have installed a small fan on it and it keeps it nice and cool.
Update to previous review
Forgot to mention, it has the capabilty to have tv out but does NOT come with the cable to allow you to connect it.
Just thought I would mention it :-)
Excellent value quality board for HTPC

Not ApplicableBought this board for a HTPC setup and it is excellent.
Has all connections you could possibly want for HTPC, i.e. HDMI, DTS and even TOSLINK if you wana connect audio through amp.
Has headers for serial and parallel on board but does not come with connectors for these.
Only thing to watch out for if you have a small case is the sata connectors. They are at a right angle so you may need right-angled sata cable to connect if you have a small case with a tight fit.
Also, in xp if you have issue with the sound card driver, goto their website and follow instructions for setting it up, its not a normal way of setting it up.
Worth the extra few quid

LinuxIf you're after an all-in-one board for a budget AM2 system look no further! After a few years in the mobo doldrums Gigabyte have resurfaced with a high-spec winner. An all AMD/ATI chipset means excellent integration of technologies, and you get 4 - yes 4 - DDR2 slots, that's up to 16gb of memory if you want to be totally absurd (32-bit OS's won't make use of memory over 4GB so check first). This seems to be a unique board in that it has no clones - check the specs of other manufacturers, they all seem to offer the same "nVidia" chipset board simply rebadged, renamed and recoloured. I'm using it with a 4000+ x2 CPU and 2gb Crucial DDR2 667 and it whistles, even with Suse Linux, a noturiously cumbersome OS - and you can even run Virtual Machines in the Xen environment. Experience tells me that upgrading the graphics is best served with an ATI card, the PCI-Ex slot is supposed to be universal but the biggest hiccup I've encountered with faulty PC's is mis-matching GPU chipsets.
Great for the money!

Windows VistaBought this cheap Gigabyte motherboard along with an AMD dual core X2 4600+ processor, and 2GB kingston 800Mhz ram.
Was fairly easy to set up once everything was installed. I just ran the included driver DVD (one for Vista one for XP), and when sorted settings wise I updated the drivers again with driver genius to get the latest ones.
Also managed to overclock my processor from 2.4Ghz to 2.68Ghz (stable so far) by increasing the FSB in the BIOS from 200 to 222. Not amazing but an improvement.
Vista SP1 now rates the CPU a 5.2 and the ram 5.9 so I'm pretty chuffed! Onboard graphics (ATI radeon 1200) on the motherboard are rated at 3.8 for Aero, and 3.1 for gaming.
All in all for the money it's a bargain. Highly recommended!
Excellent Value

Windows XPPut this board into a NZXT Tempest case along with a
AMD Athlon 64 Dual Core 6000+ chip,
4 Gig Kingston RAM,
7300 GS Nvidia PCI Graphics
Am running windows xp 64bit and its performing really well considering its a cheap board.
Have noticed other people having probs with the sound drivers, solved that.
If your running Service Pack One on XP 32/64 Bit, you have to download the patch file first before running the software on driver disk. The driver disk gives you the link when you first install all of the drivers.
If you've got Service Pack 2 then you dont but the software on disk might cause you problems, just go to your device manager, update the driver for the sound device and get windows to browse the cd for it, probably the same for the LAN controller if you have probs with that aswell.
Oh and advanced bios settings have been hidden (very wise! for those out there who like to tinker but go too far and have to reset the cmos! if it works then leave it! lol)
For those who still want to tinker with overclocking etc.. then press CTRL and F1 whilst in BIOS to show hidden settings.
(also says it in manual, page 78 right at back under 'toubleshooting'
4 Sata ports, 16 Gbyte maximum RAMM! Dual Memory access, decent onboard sound, good enuff Radeon X1200 Graphics for most games.
All i can say is try to find a board with that spec for the same price. Nuff said.
5 Stars for performance and 5 Stars for value for price, buy it while you can.

IGNORE PREVIOUS REVIEW FOR HTPC
Please ignore the review where this board is used for a htpc setup as that review is not for this board, it shoud have been for the board GA-MA69GM-S2H and not the GA-MA69VM-S2

Windows XPEasy to install needs drivers from CD for XP. You may need to buy SATA power converter cable to legacy power - only came with SATA leads. I built it with these :
Corsair 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 800MHz/PC2-6400 (098710)
Samsung SpinPoint 500GB SATAII Hard Drive (130454)
GNR TS902W TFT 19" DVI-D/VGA(116840)
LiteOn DH-20A4P-21C 20X DVD (134324)
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ AM2(139181)
Works like a dream!

Windows XPIf your on a budget look no further than this mobo its the nuts. I Agree with most of the other reviews this mobo does what it says on the tin a well price good looking Micro mobo. One thing if your still using IDE theres only one slot for it do check and don't get caught out.
