Support for XP 64 bit (and possibly vista64 if you try the XP64 driver)
review by: Anonymous os: Windows XP

took a look on asus's site and found the XP64 driver for the front panel.

http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us

on that page its under utilities and at the very bottom OC Gear Driver for XP64.

so in theory that should run on Vista 64 as well.

Vista Index Rating

customer rating
os: Windows Vista

This graphics card gives my pc a Vista Index Rating of 5.9 for "Desktop performance for Windows Aero", and 5.5 for "3D business and gamimg graphics performance"

I plugged in the front panel but it wouldn't light up (using Vista 32bit), I assume there must be seperate drivers for the front panel. This doesn't bother me as I prefer the sleek "Piano Black" look of the tower case.

The graphics card is great though.

Well recommended.

not the best !

This is not a bad graphic card, however it is not as good as it sounds, it comes with a front panel which allows you to control the fan speed, clock speed and master volume. So far it sounds great if you want to be able to over clock anytime you need to and keep the noise of the fan down. The master volume control is a great idea!

I built a new system :

AMD 64X2 3800+

2GB DDR2 5400 RAM

250GB Seagate SATA II 16mb buffer HD

this graphic card sounded perfect for my multimedia case BUT when it comes to operation the front panel does not work with windows vista 64 bit or windows xp 64 bit . So the options are to use XP 32 or Vista 32.

If you have a dual core 64 bit processor look for something else or you have to choose between front panel or using a 32bit OS.

I am still looking for a way to go around it but ASUS website was useless.

Keep that in mind the graphic card has very good performance, very fast single channel memory and good price. Works much better than any Nvidia 7 series that I had (I tried 4 so far).

Go for it if you are not bothered about front panel, but don't buy it for the Panel.

Gets 4 stars from me for price and performance. No star for software support.

* make sure you have a powerful enough power supply , 500 watts min.
