I believe the manufacturer is Tenda. The below link has info, support & drivers etc.

For the price this is a great little product!

Finally got it all to work! AP Repeater
review by: Anonymous os: Not Applicable

OK! Following my previous post, here's the solution.

Use a Cat5 cable to connect to the "Little Orange Boxes" when configuring and take note of such things as WEP Keys, IP Addresses, MAC Addresses as you go along. Always change the default password.

1. Upgrade the firmware to the version on the Tenda website - http://www.tenda.cn/pdtData/software/firmware/tendaen/TWL54A_ver_vR1.0_070823_efirm.rar

2. Configure the two access points to use as repeaters with different SSID's and IP Addresses e.g. House - 192.168.0.9 and Garden - 192.168.0.10

3. Set the mode to AP Repeater for both. Perform the "Scan" or "Discovery" on both and add the corresponding MAC Addresses to connect.

4. Now set the WEP Security Settings to be exactly the same. You must use "Open System" and enter all 4 keys.

5. Reboot whenever asked.

6. It's a good idea to have the two repeaters on a different WiFi channel to any exisiting WiFi network you have to avoid interference. Both repeaters are on Channel 11, whereas main WiFi is Channel 6

7. If you are connecting to a router/ADSL Modem/Wireless AP, use Cat5 to link the primary "Little Orange Box" to the exisiting unit.

Using this solution I have connected a Netgear DG834GT (which is my primary WiFi/ADSL modem) using Cat5 to one of the "Little Orange Boxes" in my house. Another "Little Orange Box" is in my log cabin in the garden where the signal WAS weak. Works a treat!

Good Luck!

I also bought 2! I am having the same problem - my next move is to try changing the default IP address on one of them. Post here if you have any luck!

Plexus Wireless 54 Mbps Access Point

Got this set up and working in a matter of minutes. Fantastic little AP, and very cheap too!

Successfully got this working as an access point, and as a client (Once set up as a client, just plug it into the LAN socket on your PC and it's as if you're connected via a wired network, totally transparent!)

I have a few tips though.

1. default username: admin password: admin

2. always use IE to configure.

3. default ip address is 192.168.0.254

Just make sure you plug directly into your PC and manually set your IP address to something like 192.168.0.10

Been running this as a client for the last 2 hours 100% reliable.

I really hope eBuyer can get more of these things, going to order a few more before they run out!

Five stars. Can't fault it!

Good Kit - Use IE to configure
review by: Daniel Fraser os: Windows XP

Took me a while to configure because I didn't read these reviews!

I am using it in "client mode" to hook up a remote printer wirelessly

USE INTERNET EXPLORER otherwise it will not scan for detected networks and it doesn't save the configuration changes fully.

Plugging in directly to my PC would have been easier the what I did configuring it via my router wirelessly.

Cheap Xbox 360 Connection

Why spend 60 quid on a 'certified Microsoft wireless network adapter' when you can get this for a quarter of the price?

Brilliant piece of kit. Bit of an odd interface but pretty easy to use. Shame it's orange too.

The only downside I can see is that it's not USB powered, but for this price, who cares?

If you want a cheap alternative to the overpriced Microsoft adapter the get this now.

Mine arrived today and according to the instalation instructions you can indeed connect this box to your wired router and then use the wireless function of the box to get on the internet.

I bought this box for my Sons Xbox, haven't tried it yet, but it is working fine plugged into my Laptop as a wireless device.

Really got product which seems to work just as well as the more expensive access points. Currently using it with my Windows Home Server because it requires a fast connection to the Client machines. Would highly recommend to anyone
