what do you want???
os:
Windows VistaThis thing seems great on first impression, i have a couple of films on there, some albums, all simple enough and sound and look good. convert dvd to avi then use mp3 utilities 4.13 converter(on included dvd) and your done. yes buttons are flimsy, if they break this cost less than a takeaway chinese... gotta remember that.
top draw.. and yes its just like a nano!
Amazing!

Windows XPI just can't believe the price of this - and it includes a USB/mains adapter which I needed for my Myguide satnav, which means the MP4 player is almost free!
It looks really cool - very like the latest ipod nano. And it plays music, sounds good, and has a pretty decent radio. What more can you ask?
OK the manual is impossible. And the controls are very quirky and take some mastering.
The folder system can be a bit of a nightmare to navigate round until you get used to it. But it is definitely worth getting used to.
I haven't tried videos because the screen isn't really up to much, but I'm using the radio much more than I expected I would.
Obviously it isn't as good as a 100 pound job. But it's quite impressive, and if you are someone who wouldn't dream of spending that much, go for this - you can't lose!
Good Value
os:
Windows XPI've had this for about a month now and it's generally been very good.
The Bad:
- I read somewhere that these players are meant to have an 8 hour battery life - I would say it's more like 5
- The file system is old (one track after another rather than indexed albums)
- It's crashed on me twice. (fixed simply by plugging it into the PC via the USB - which also charges it)
The good:
+ It's the size of an i-pod Nano (& very similar to look at)
+ Sound quality is pretty good (ditch the headphones it comes with)
+ The price!
Tips:
> 'Soft on/off by holding down the play/pause button (resumes where you left it using this)
> To turn the volume up and down push the middle button then the left or right button
> Up and down IS left and right
Great value for money - but manual written in Chingish!
os:
Not ApplicableThis is a great product but unfortunately the manual is written in Chinglish and therefore almost incomprehensible, but for the price it's worth playing with the buttons and learning by trial and error.
The FM radio is great - I tuned into radio 4 and others easily.
MP3s are recognised so you can just drag and drop from your PC, via the supplied USB cable. I haven't attempted to put lyric files on yet, although it does claim that they can be used. Sound quality is great, and it is easy to make and play back a voice recording.
Videos are a bit more complicated - there is software on the supplied mini-disc (you need to install the program appropriate to your screen size - there is only one for the 1.8inch version, so it's obvious). The software converts avi to amv - and a 25 minute video clip took about 5 mins to convert. Then drag it over to the player and away you go. The file size was approx 60% of the original. I noticed that a widescreen avi didn't convert well - the resulting amv file was only the LEFT 2/3 portion of the original film.
I did find that I got stuck in menus sometimes and couldn't exit or backtrack, and resorted to holding the play button for a few seconds to exit, or turning it off.
Oh, and you have to scroll up and down the menu by pressing left and right! Bizarre.
