Great Value
Another bargain from Ebuyer with very prompt delivery.
Super little gadget and very easy to use.
FM tuner is a bonus and gives excellent results and includes 20 presets!
Stores and reproduces good quality photos and videos (using the included conversion software).
Has a voice or radio recorder function that works well.
MP3 output also very good.
it works, it's cheap

Not ApplicableThis review applies to model with firmware "2007/06/06 9.1.52 7161v1.0 2007/11/01"
fat32 file system
Works fine with slackware 12.1(either auto or manually mounted).
Plays ogg vorbis (*.ogg) files.
Manual is incomprehensible garbage produced from some non proof-read translation software. So is the documentation on the accompanying utilities mini-cd.
Device menu is clumsy but usable.
Sound is good.
winxp: To convert avi etc to a format usable by this player, install, from supplied disk, amv convert 4.13 (the version down from that makes amv files display smaller than the already tiny visible screen).
Five stars because it works (on Slackware) and it's cheap.
Great Product

Windows VistaI decided to use this product awhile before i reviewed it.
This is a very good product if your not willing to speed alot of cash this is very good it has a built in rechargable battery with leads included. Makes me feel i brought an expensive ipod video.
I've been looking for a firmware update for this device and i noticed it uses a really small version on linux in the background i can't confirm this though but it feels like this OS.
Worth 15 pounds but

Not Applicablegreat little gadget but on mine the charging cable wasnt working, realised if i half pulled the cable out of the unit it would charge. had my own cable anyway and its charging fine.
I cant work out how to play back the radio recording though, it seems to record it but, cant find out how to play it back
manual is awful as people say.
Excellent value for money :)

Windows XPI have only had this device for a few days but have now worked it out and am happy with it. My main gripes were that the menu isnt very logical and requires trial and error in order to learn its workings especially the fact that the menu button is also the select button. Was annoyed at first as I was having to flick through every single tune to get to the one I wanted until I found that if a track isnt playing you can press the menu button and access the file systems files and folders and select a track from there. The sound quality was pretty rubbish though the supplied ear phones so I bought a cheap pair of Sony ones and the sound is now much better but I think this is to be expected at the price. I tried encoding some music using Ogg Vorbis and found that my higher bitrate music played fine although some speech files I compressed at the lowest quality setting from a linguaphone CD using Vorbis would not play and gave me a Format Error. The video quality seems pretty impressive and I am able to rip my DVDs to AVI and convert them using the software that came on the CD. Handy to be able to watch a quick movie or play some tunes while bored on my lunch break or waiting around so well worth the money :)
