Answering questions posed about the PocketSurfer:-

* No, you can't load any programmes onto the hard disk - it hasn't got one.

* It's got access to Web based spreadsheet and word processing facillities.

* Storage capaxity? Flash hard drive? None, sorry. However there is 25GB of Web storage.

This is nothing more than a terminal to give you basic Internet access including email. Everthing is stored on their server including settings, bookmarks, etc.

It does have a quirky way of inputting your typed data and the method of screen navigation might put people off.

That said, I love it.

Works really well, very quick and its not too big and the gps is cool.

It has no internal storage but you can store to a 25gb online store. Have a look at my review with videos and pics at

Fantastic Mobile Internet Device!

I ordered my PocketSurfer2 as I wanted a mobile internet device that didn't cost the earth, and could be used anywhere.

From the minute I opened the package and swicthed on the device I was super impressed!

I absolutely love it!

The keyboard is just like the Motorola RAZR and is a dream to use, the screen is also good. You can change the settings to what quality the images are displayed. Once you've changed the display to your satisfaction it becomes excellent! The build quality is pretty good, although I am going to buy a leather case for it.

There isn't much I can fault it for! I am really pleased I bought one.

If you are looking for a mobile internet device, that doesn't cost the earth, can be used wherever there is mobile phone signal then the PocketSurfer2 is a definetly must buy!

I love mine!

You can simultanioulsy be logged in on Yahoo, MSN, AOL and ICQ messenger. I think this is an online application. (Shortcut from the homepage of the device). Also Word, Excel, ADOBE reader etc are availble; again it is all online, ie not installed on the device it self but works great!

You cant see on the device what network it uses so I am not sure about that; I have no issues in my house or on the road. I have a sign on the side which claims 25GIG online storage. There is no storage on the device itself.

I have had my new pocketsurfer 2 for nearly a week now and have to say I am very pleased with it.Nice fast web browsing for most sites (some complicated sites take a while to load)but works perfectly with the usual sites I use most. The only drawback is the fact its got no sound but this doesn't matter for a lot of stuff I use it for.All in all a good toy for the price. If your looking for a pc replacement don't buy but if you want to do quick simple surfing from wherever you are then defiantly buy it.

The server does a great job of compressing typical webpages and websurfing is surprisingly zippy.

You have to register with a third-party to access the online storage, but I suspect the compression gains won't apply. Might be useful for small documents all the same.

The GPS receiver was a real surprise, and can be used together with GoogleMaps; don't expect an in-car GPS system, but great for finding exactly out where you are.

The interface can be a little awkward at times, especially the first time you use it to register, but you'll get used to it.

I've only had it a few days and I'm sure there are things I haven't discovered - but one drawback is that you have to be connected to do anything, and that eats into your included 20hrs connection time.

But, if you consider that you get 144pounds of equivalent dialup performance (1p/min for 20hrs/mth for 1yr) AND that you can surf almost anywhere in UK - that's a pretty amazing deal!

Being the first to buy from ebuyer.com I knew ebuyer.com would put the price to help with the sales! Would of prefered better quality screen , and resolution and colours as it only has 256 colors , some web pages look washed out! But ITS MAIN PURPOSE IS TO SURF! and it does it GREAT! FAST ! Great signal!

You can view pdf files on it.

You can also use msn / yahoo messenger.

You can use online word processor, save your documents online using online storage, and edit them using pocket surfer, great idea.

Could of added a car charger, I wonder if ebuyer.com would be selling one, I highly recommend pocket surfer 2, can't wait for pocket surfer 3 in about 2/3 years !!!

4.5 stars out of 5 , coz of the screen quality and colours could be better, however if the screen was sony quality and 65,000 k colours the price would not be 178.99 it would be 399.00!!! who wants to pay that NO-ONE!!!
