Brillaint Bargain

This little Fan Controller was such a good buy for me. Having six 120mm fans in my case means it is very noisy and my ASUS P5K can only control 4 of them. Even with Q-Fan enabled they would only go as low as 1000rpm. But this controller lets me take all six down to 600rpm and all the way up to 2000rpm.

The LEDs on the front of the controller are quite bright but they do vary depending on the speed setting and they are quite a 'cool' blue.

For any future buyers this come with alot of stuff:

1 2-1 3pin Splitter Wire

2 4pin Molex to 3pin Wire's

2 3pin Extension Wire's (about 6 inches long)

2 3pin Extensions with RPM sensor's for your motherboard (this means you can control them on the fan controller while still seeing the RPM reading from your motherboard)

It also comes with a 5.25-3.5 inch mounting adpater so you can mount a HDD behind this fan cooler so no space wasted by it!

i quite liked the idea of freeing up my 3.5" drive bay as i onyl have 1 3.5" bay.

so when this came it was all nicly packaged up. when taken out of its package there was all the cables required for all 6 fan controlers and 2 extra face plates (clear and blue), all screws were here as well as a HDD mounting bracket. not sure how to use it and i dont have an extra hdd to see how it works, woudl imaging that it screws into the fan controller so it would save space if/when needed.

the included cables were:

2x 3 pin fan plugs

2x 4 pin molex plugs

2x 3 pin fan (plug but it has 2 conections?)

1x molex power connecter

easy to install and the knobs have blue led's which go din when the knob is on lower settings.

me personally, they are to bright andi would like to disable the leds but i aint got a clue

I recently picked this up along with a NZXT Tempest Case and am very happy with them both! You CAN control all 6 fans individually but not with the supplied cables. Luckily with my case the 2 top fans and 2 front fans had long enough cables to connect directly to this controller. The 2 supplied extention cables came in handy for the rear and side fans. This unit is powered by a molex connection and supports 6 3pin fans, obviously you can convert them if required. Only con is you can't control the LEDs which I too think are a bit bright. Great value for money.

I bought one of these fan controllers for my new pc that i built. I looked at the more expensive ones but i took the risk and purchased this one. When i opened the box i was surprised it included a lot of things.

1 x Molex - 2pin adapter for connecting power to the unit

2 x Molex - 3 pin cables

2 x 3 pin extension cables

Brackets for mounting hdd behind the panel

3 different coloured bezels to suit all cases

All the screws and fixings

I installed the fan controller in 5 mins and i was shocked. having used many other controllers this is just as good as the other ones out there. Ive even got my cold cathode tubes linked up to this controller and the LEDS on the front look great!

Had my doubts about this as it was so cheap after receiving and installing all doubts gone!

Pros:

Cheap fan controller no unneeded extras (USB, FireWire),

Third the price of most other 6 fan controllers,

Three front panels to choose from Blue, Black or Clear,

Easy to install with extra cables for two 4 pin fans cable, two for (3 pin) CPU fan and two 3 pin extensions. Plugs into the power supply 4 pin connector.

Very effective at regulating all 6 fans RPM

Cons:

Blue lights a little bright on the knobs

For Looks, Price, Efficiency and Simplicity

5 stars

Great controller and i also bought it with the tempest case. For this price you can't really beat it but be warned the LEDs are very bright.

With the Tempest easy drive installs this was a little lose on one side so i had to use one of its supplied hard drive brackets to DIY a brace to screw into.

Can easily cut theside of the 3 pin fan extension cable to stick a 4 pin fan in, 20 seconds and knife.

For the money this is ok. You get lots of cables, it doesn't look too cheap, and you can control your case fans easily. One of my fans (supposedly a quiet fan) was causing a fair bit of noise, so that's now sorted with no discernible difference in temperatures.

But two of the fans are running full pelt and making no noise at all (code 138590 and the one that comes with a Coolermaster Elite case) so this is starting to seem like over-kill when a single pci-slot fan controller would have been less intrusive. Or a better quality quieter fan than 105137.

One final thing - god knows how you can control the CPU fan with this. I though cutting out the side of a 3 pin socket and leaving the blue cable was supposed to do the trick, but nope, can't control that CPU fan no matter what I do - so I'll have to splash out on a quieter fan than the stock one.
