Nice monitor

Pros:

- Good 22" monitor from a well known company

- Slightly thinner than other 22" monitor designs

- Okay value for money

Cons:

- Does not come with DVI cable

- Volume for internal speakers have to be adjusted using the on screen display (no separate volume controls)

- The stand is not height adjustable

I have been speculative on the wide-screen format of LCD monitors (I still prefer the normal SXGA type resolutions), but for watching movies, tv series, a wide-screen is not a bad idea. From early times, I have always liked the video (decode) chipset on Philips monitors than that of Samsung, etc, though this is a matter of taste.

Good all round Value

I had read many good reports about Phillips monitors, and that, plus the three year guarantee, made me decide on this one.

Although I opted for free delivery (up to five days) it arrived within 48 hours of ordering. Very easy to set up via the 'quick guide' and CD instruction Book plus settings programme to make the final adjustments.

No dead pixels - lovely clear picture, and now I have the joy of working on two A4 pages side by side in MS Word and DTP. Photos look great too.

Many 22 inch screens now have a shiny black surround which can give reflections but this one is in a matt black finish which I prefer. Also has a soft green 'mains on' light that doesn't detract.

I'm not a 'games person' so cannot comment on the results when used for such, but for general and office performance it is a lovely monitor and well worth the money.
