These are Great!!!
os:
Windows VistaI have purchased these 2 days ago to go with my new Intel Q6600 and Nvidia 8800GT and they are perfect for the money. Installation was simple and even though they cant fit next to each other thats not a problem because the have to fit into Odd/Even memory slots for dual operation. They boot up at 800mhz but going into the manual setting on my OLD P5B Delux Asus Mobo and fiddling with the settings ( FSB increase from 266 to 333) Then selecting memeory speed 1000Mhz and voltage 2.0v they run as stated!!!Best Value for money!! (also Ebuyer is great, ordered on Thurs arrived Fri at 10:00am!!!)
good style and function
os:
Windows Vistausing an asus P5KC mobo, it took a little time to figure out but there is a menu option in the bios that needs changing to get the memory to run at full speed. now i found it, it's fine. they also look great with the heat sink sticking out. space is needed for these things though so don't buy if you want to use a compact case or even a huge passive cooler for your CPU unless you check the dimensions.
Module Width Problems
os:
Not ApplicableBe a little careful when ordering these to ensure your motherboard has sufficient space between memory slots. The ReaperX spreaders are much wider than normal memory so do not fit into many boards! The memory itself is good but the limited choice of boards it can be used in justifies the 3 star only rating.
Problems with SPD
The built in SPD on these chips defaults to 800MHz. Have checked the OCZ website and have followed the instructions on there to get them to work at 1000MHz but like the other reviwer - my system hangs even with necessary over volts. Will consider returning these to OCZ at some point.
As a note they may fit into adjacent slots - if your willing to bend the heatsinks a little but the OCZ website does mention this as a problem to note so watch out!
Given two stars because they do work at 800MHz...
1000MHz?
os:
Windows VistaMine are reporting 800MHz and the system hangs at 1000 (even though there is a sticker on the side confirming the 1000MHz). They won't fit into 2 consecutive slots on the motherboard, (due to the heat sinks) which may be a problem for some.
in response to the other comments/reviews
are you sure your motherboard actually supports this speed ram? if not thats the reason for the hanging
