An excellent budget projector for movies and presentations

I bought this projector to replace my previous Infocus X2. This X6 is smaller brighter quieter and much cheaper than the X2 which was a highly rated projector. Like all DLP type projectors, you still need to have a slightly dimmed room without direct sunlight on the screen. (but there arn't many projectors that work well in bright sunlight)

There are just a few points to note. The connector for Computer is the standard Dsub (15 pin) VGA,(and a very non-standard serial connector) which is OK if you haven't had an Infocus projector previously, but a bit of a hassle if (like me) you already have wired in connectors for the standard Infocus M1 digital connector. [I haven't been able to source a cable for the serial connector yet]. Secondly the remote is the only method of controlling the projector (what looks like a control panel on the top of the projector is the remote clipped into a special slot). Its very neat but if you loose the remote you will be in trouble. Also the projector does not have a mains switch and only switches to standby from the remote so you have to switch it off at the mains to get it completely off.

All these points are relativly minor in terms of overall operation which is great. I use mine installed with a ceiling mount, so size is not much of an issue but the projector is very small and light and would make a really good portable projector (with a suitable case). I'd recommend it to anyone. You could spend twice as much and not get as good a projector

I purchased this projector a few weeks ago, and was a little unsure of the quality as the price was so good.

Anyway I am very happy with it, gives a nice clear picture with my Sky Digi box and my PS3, the built in speaker is rubbish but I connected through my Stereo System anyway.

Very Happy indeed.

INFOCUS x6 Simply Brillliant value for money

like others in here I had been toying with the idea of a projector for a while.

After reading the reviews in here chose this one this one to test the waters - simply because I didn't want to spend a fortune only to decide I didn't like it or that my dear wife didn't like it

Well to put it simply it was the best money I could have spent.

Had it set up in a couple of minutes....linked it through my laptop initially with my suround sound from my main PC plugged into the headphones socket(worked a treat!)

Was really concerned about having to get a screen my wall is 240cm wide and was quoted prices ranging from eighty to five hundred poundsand the wife was having none of that lol

Now bearing in mind you get what you pay for and that this is not HD or fitted with massive amounts of connectivity the thought of forking out huge amounts of money seemed a bit daunting.

So if you do buy this projector and you are thinking of getting a screen instead of projecting onto a wall this is a little suggestion that will save a fortune.

IKEA do a massive roller blind 180cm wide for twenty quid and it works an absolute treat!

So whilst I've forked out for my projector and screen and used my laptop and pc speakers to make up a relatively cheap home cinema system..it has proved worth while...my wife loves it and has given me the go ahead to do it properly and spend real cash on it now that she is convinced....

Honestly for what you pay for this you cannot go wrong brilliant image, very bright and makes for a great family night in watching the movies...

One last thing..when ebuyer say it will be delivered next day ..It is..spot on midday!

I have never had a projector before, but the price tempted me.The infocus site is very good and informative. use the software to accurately give image size. i bought a 6 ft screen foe a projection distance of 17 ft, no good , had to buy a 10 ft er . image is just like the flicks ! The only negative is some fan noise.

but a bargain, asuming a bulb life of 2300 hour, thats 10 p per vewing hour.buy one

Just had this a day, and I'm glad I didn't spend 200 quid more on something, this is perfect for my needs. I didn't want it for TV but I put my cheap little freeview box through it and the quality is amazing. I have the sound through my own amp. The projector is about 10 feet from the wall and it has an appoximate 6 foot diagonal image in the 4:3 ratio. DVD is great too, but playing Mario Kart has taken on a whole new perspective. Fantastic.
