Windows VistaJust got the laptop this morning and it looks really good, well built, solid etc. I can also confirm that it does have 2yr manufacturer warranty. There is a warranty card in the box which confirms this. Not so sure about the Lightscribe as per the other comment....it has the software but I don't believe the writer is capable as there is no option to burn lightscribe and there are no lightscribe symbols on the laptop or optical drive. Overall I would say a bargain for the money and a top make.

Not Applicablejust recieved this laptop today. and really pleased with it. never really heard of asus before but saw the spec and seemed good value for the money. when i recieved it could not believe how good the build quality was too. definatly recommend this product to anyone.

Windows VistaI bought this laptop not so long ago as recommended by Will who was very helpful might I add via email. I'm very pleased with this laptop in terms of build quality and overall value for money. This is the first laptop I've owned and first time I've tried the vista OS which I'm glad to say this CPU along with 2gb (which is needed, 1gb won't do it) and nice smart 200gb run very smooth. I found it very easy to set-up as most of it is done for you. Only problem I had really was the drivers on my speedtouch 330 (tiscali) modem which were quickly resolved.The built in webcam is also of high quality as well. If i were to be picky, it would be that you don't get much added software with this, but then again you can't have it all!
I'd highly recommmend this good value piece of kit to anyone!
PS- Thumbs up for ebuyer on price and to Asus for their 24 month warranty.
Help for the guy with audio problems.

Windows VistaTo the guy who has problems with the audio on the laptop when using XP.
I had the same issue for a while, i couldnt get no sound even when the audio drivers were installed.
Try removing the 56k modem drivers if they were installed before the audio drivers. When the modem drivers were removed the audio worked perfectly.
I have had no problems with this laptop, using it to type this. Very fast and sturdy. reccomended.

Not ApplicableIt has a great spec, feels like it will last a long time, and most importantly does not have anything crufty about it at all. I will not be ashamed to pull this out in a meeting (even when the room is full of apple air's).
It is a bit bigger than I had imagined due to the widescreen, but the mousepad is really nice to use and the king size keyboard too..
The price does not do this item justice - 10/10 ebuyer. This box represents huge value for money - and I'm so pleased.
2 Year guarantee and lightscribe - the unit is the quality you would expect from ASUS. Superb. Ram packed full of up to date goodies and wholesome goodness!
I have had a few latops in my time, and as one of the other reviewers noted "it feels like a sony".
Only a few times in my life have I ever spent such a small amount of money and got so much in return. Brilliant.

Windows VistaI was surprised when i had a look at the spec and that too with this brand which i did hear about alot from friends and family members but now i have got 1 and its really worth having it for this little value. excellent product.
XP USB issues?
I removed Vista and installed XP SP2. Everything working OK except that the USB ports all seem to be working at USB 1.0 speeds despite reporting back as an 'Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller'.
I can't find USB drivers for this laptop or motherboard anywhere - anyone got any ideas?
Overall the laptop is solidly built, has a great screen and runs quietly and smoothly - very happy apart from the USB problem.
btw the XP audio drivers on the Asus website do not work. Download the High Definition audio driver directly from the Realtek website and it works fine despite throwing up an error or 2 during installation.

Windows VistaI brought this as a second laptop to go travelling with. An extremely good buy i think, looks great and a high spec for the price. Comes with a few bits of software too. Only thing i have noticed, which is probably down to microsoft is that vista does take a while to boot up and shut down, i have heard this is an issue on laptops.
I am also having trouble finding out the actual speed of the graphics card, all ebuyer says is that it is intergrated.

I have been updating on my technology in the last few weeks and have ordered 2 other items apart from this excellent value computer that suits my needs very well. The other items were an asus eeepc of which I am absolutely delighted and an ipod with which I am also very pleased with. In all cases ebuyer has been fantastic for not only the products but particularly honouring their next day delivery service . My latest purchase was ordered yesterday after 7 pm and it arrived this morning at 11 am . Fantastic service.
