Great processor - very impressed

I'm running this in a motherboard limited to DDR @ 400mhz and an AGP slot. It far out performs my old setup, a P4 2.8mhz northwood, using the same memory (2gb) and graphics card (sapphire hd2600xt).

Even though the memory is limited to 400mhz it overclocks to 2.4mhz using the stock fan without changing the multiplier, and utilities report 16 degrees c at idle.

All my games are smooth at high quality and I'm a very happy man.

Great Budget Processor

Used this in a budget build for a friend to replace a dead emachines motherboard and processor. Absolute bargain, runs xp home very well indeed, no need to overclock for routine home applications such as internet / word processing - it is more than adequate. Ran very cool according to motherboard temperatures and I have no doubt that it's relatively low power consuming also.

Excellent product for the money.

great price for a duel core

After debating for ages about getting a new chip for this celeron d360 powered P/b machine I went for this and changed it over in 20 mins or less and what can i say wow it is a lot faster at running aps the next one I will be getting is a pentium duel core from here possibly the e1280 (the celeron socket 775 is a p4 socket 775 with half the cache disabled by Intel) so I would say go for it and save loads of money on a duel core

Top budget processor

The performance is incredible for the price.

With a G31 motherboard this will clock to 2.6Ghz on stock voltage.

If you have cheap memory this will clock to 2.5Ghz (1200) while keeping the memory at 800.

A great little processor!

I used this processor when building a PC for my girlfriend. As she only needed it for Internet, Office apps and music I thought it would be silly to spend any more on a processor.

I was very surprised at how responsive the machine was when launching and switching apps and doing pretty much everything else.

Although I was a little hesitant at buying a Celeron processor, I think the dual cores make a lot of difference and it's an excellent buy if all you want to do is go online, listen to music and work...

Haven't tried playing any movies yet!

Brought for my new media centre PC, intended to overclock but now have not bothered as it offers more that enough speed. Loads up to vista in about 15 seconds. This actually feels faster than my E4500 O/C'd to 3.5Ghz, but that is probably because i have 3dsMax, AutoDesk plus loads of other intense programs running and only media centre running on this CPU. A great buy though.

Cheapest Dual Core, Great Value For Money, Better Than You Think!

Well basically, The family computer messed up and I had to assemble a new computer. It had to be a dual core.

Celeron..first thing that came to my mind was avoid at all costs...utter crap, overheats, etc etc

To my surprise at 28 quid for a dual core (cheapest on the market), I thought give it a go.

BEST BANG FOR BUCK WITHOUT DOUBT!.

Stock speed 1.60ghz, overclocked quite easily to 2.10ghz..got unstable at 3.10ghz.

Easy to overclock as its based on the core architecture.

Heat isnt a issue either (round 27 to 30c)

Ok, Its not the best for games due to its cahce, But office work, ripping music, etc..PERFECT

Not great for games and heavy multitasking, But end of the day, What you have paid is what you get, A Cheap dual core!

4 Stars as i still hate the name of celeron and its association with previous intel lines and small cache

I built my first PC using this, It is 1.6 and Overclockable to 2GHz with Stock cooler. You may need to add some extra thermal paste if you want to Overclock it.
