Pictorea Brand Frames

Upon opening the new Heritage Centre we were looking for a new modern way to present our exhibitions. A friend said had we thought about digital photo frames, and we immediately looked into the idea. We purchased a 10" Pictorea frame first and was very impressed by its ease of use and the autorun facility provided by the frame. The quality of images displayed on the frame is really sharp and the colours are rich and true. We now use 4 of the 15" frames for all of our exhibition work and they are just superb. If your after a quality product to show off your digital photos then I wouldnt look any further.

Last year I had bought an 800 x 600 pixel frame from eBuyer. I liked it so much that I bought a few more for Christmas presents.

When I saw this one, with its significantly higher pixel-count, I decided to give it a try.

The frame itself is an attractive birch wood, much lighter than the image shown on eBuyer. It is thin enough to hang on a wall.

I exported my iPhoto collection to 1024 x 768 pixel jpegs, formatted a 2GB SD card in my digital camera to make sure it didn't upset the primitive software that gets installed in these digital photo frames, then copied the 3000 images to the card. That takes a long time (35 minutes), because the card's formatting isn't optimised for the Mac OS.

The images are excellent, and the default transitions are smooth and unobtrusive. The glass cover adds to the professional look of the frame, but does mean it is more prone to reflections from room lighting.
