Well I'm happy
os:
Windows VistaI bought this for internet and word processing but found it to be able to handle other programs like Adobe Flash while browsing and word processing. It's a budget priced entry level laptop but I was surprised it came with a 120 gig hard drive and dvd writer, I can't really fault it in anyway.
The only thing people might grumble about is the battery last about 1hr 40 mins (which isn't so fun if you're the sort of person who works alot on the train, although in saying that, alot of trains have plug sockets in them for you to use). It's only got two USB ports, but you can easily find a hub on this site. Also, the speaker isn't huge, but most people have speakers from old PC's around the house or if you are on a train, I've found the Sennheiser CX300's to be a nice place to start.
It runs Vista really well as long as you turn off all the pointless visual settings (Control panel > System > Advanced System settings > Performance settings. Select adjust for best performance but also tick the 'show thumbnails instead of Icons). It's really easy to setup and with the visual settings turned down it's even acessable to people upgrading from windows 98 (because we all know they are still out there).
Runs's firefox (browser), avg (anti virus & anti spyware) and zone alarm (firewall) (all free to download I might add) like a dream. Great for youtube and other time wasting things like that.
In conclusion, if you want a basic laptop for your son or daughter to do their homework on without being distacted by playing video games, this is ideal.
If you are an older person wanting to get buy a laptop without having to cash in your life insurance, you don't care too much about being flashy as long as it does the job, this is for you.
If you are wanting to play Crysis, Half Life 2, Unreal Tournament 3 or Oblivion, why oh why are you still reading this!? ;)
Good luck with your purchase!

Windows VistaBought one of these as my old lap top when bang. Did not want to pay large amounts for one , so bought the HP 530 .
All I can say is WOW! for the money it is brilliant . Excellent for movies and day to day usage , sound output is a bit low but a good set of headphones the quaility is there .Wireless networks is ok so far speeds up 270kb per second . Loverly design ,bright clear screen , for a celeron processor the speed is good .
Worth every Penny spent , for a every day laptop well worth a look .Even better value with the 1gb Memory for free .
Cheapest ever seen

Windows VistaThis is perfect laptop for general uses, surfing on the net movies, sound, anything that does not relate havy graphics process, I loved it. I am computer scientest, and I recommend this laptop for anyone who needs it for genral purposes.
The second 1 GB ram came seperate, and I have installed, so make sure some-one knows how to install a ram for your new note-book, before you BUY,
good luck.

Windows VistaThis Laptop is amazing, you may think the specs are really rubbish, but think otherwise, it boots up fast, it loads programs fast!
I can't believe it runs Vista Home Basic and can still run at amazing speed!
I recommend this, its really nice to use, has 2 hour battery life and great Wifi! I recommend buying another 1GB stick for it as it will increase performance to the MAX!
Overal, Best laptop I have ever used!

I bought one of these laptops about 4 months ago and since i had it i havent bin off it, its amazing its as good as any of the other laptops on the market great value i have being telling other people about it and they have all shown interest and asked where i got it from!

Windows VistaI have had computers for some time, but not being a computer buff, and only wanting a laptop to store music, surf and do email,I looked around and came up with the HP 530.
Nice big hard drive, plus I got a second gig of ram free.
It does everything I want it to do,and compared to my old desktop and (dead) laptop it seems to go at light speed!Set up was easy.
My only "problem" was/is getting used to vista! Took me ages to find they'de changed Outlook Express to Windows Mail.
I downloaded OpenOffice, rather than give Mr Gates any more money by buying Office 2007.
All in all,if you want a quick laptop, quickly, get this one from ebuyer. It arrived when they said it would, and their staff were quite helpfull.
I use it on mains power at home, and if I need extended battery time,I'll look for a heavy duty battery,or purchase a spare
So far, so good.

Windows VistaHad this a couple of days and have been very pleased (apart from having to get used to Vista).
The main selling point has to be the price. Just amazing!
Also many thanks to Ebuyer for the fantastic service. Ordered on Sunday with free 5 day shipping and it arrived Tuesday. Brilliant!!!
