Windows XPthis is the answer to your storage problems. the amount of data i have on my computers at home is shocking, (i blame it on my 3 kids) this little black box solved all my problems. the kids can store all their music,movies,pics.. on there and i dont have to worry about security, running out of disk space, redundancy and a whole lot more. im impressed with the transfer rate too.
nice
Its cool, all my music, movies and photos all now in 1 place,it was easy to set up and use. i love it
DiskSafe Express
This is for the 1TB Altos (not wireless) but should be relevant...
I almost had a nasty scare when I couldn't get the supplied DiskSafe Express to install - didn't like Vista's version of iSCSI Initiator.
No thanks to Acer support, I finally tracked down an updated version of the software that did install at http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/server/altos_easystore.html
Lightning fast and other than the software issue I'm tickled pink - a lovely bit of kit.
My drives are Western Digital.
Serial Code
The product is awesome; however, the serial code for the ebackup disk is missing. All both Acer and Ebuyer can do is replace the entire unit. After spending hours backing up my systems and calibrating the network this is not really and option. :( Not a sensible answer to 5 sets of digits that can be sent via email.
Check for the serial code on delivery (not an easy task).
Lots of issues.

Windows VistaUnfortunatley I will be returning the device, data transfer fails ater 5 or 10 minutes. Be aware that Acer do not offer support for this device, server department do not cover this model and the standard support folks have had no training on it. Will never order an Acer product again, 10 out of 10 for Ebuyer as they accepted the return with no quibbles.
Who makes the actual disks?
Who makes the actual hard disks for this box?
Seagate/Maxtor?
Samsung?
Western Digital?
other?
