Windows XPBought this chip a few weeks ago, it is really good for the money i even mannaged to overclock it to a 3.07ghz, so far no problems, runs every new game i have brought, this is a good CPU for gaming!

To answer your questions this is a single core processor.
I'm thinking of buying one of these for my Acer T180 which only has a sempron +3200 1.8GHz
