iPod Touch killer?
os:
Windows VistaIt's still early days yet as I've only had it a day! When I've been using it for a while, I'll come back and do a full review.
Pro's:
+ It looks nice.
+ Menu's look nice which is great as most of these cheap players seem to have horrible rainbow coloured backgrounds etc.
+ Incredible rack of features for the price.
+ Everything just works with little to no fuss.
+ Easily upgraded with a 2GB MicroSD card.
+ Lockable.
+ Comes with games.
+ Plays just about anything I've thrown at it so far. Video's can be converted using the software that comes with it.
+ Very clear sound with good bass response from the supplied earphones.
+ Video's play sideways on with the earphone plug to the right, so it can be stood up or rested against something.
+ Cheap.
+ No iTunes software required, it simply shows up as a removable hard drive. You can do what you want with it, simply drag/drop/copy/paste with no restrictions.
Con's:
- Touch screen interface is a little slow to react at times. Not sure if it's because I'm not pressing hard enough, or not quite in the right spot.
- Can't use it when it's plugged in to the computer or charging.
- Supplied telescopic stylus seems a little cheap and not likely to last long. I personally use my finger though.
- No real time VU graphics like the other Sumvision players have. The Ice800 has it, why not it's big brother?
- Navigation buttons (at the bottom of the screen) used for games etc, are too low. It's as if the screen has been mounted too low, or the screen surround has been fixed to high. They are still usable though, just not as easy as they could be.
Thats about it really, the niggles are neither here nor there really. For the price, I just don't think you can go wrong.
Certainly better value IMO than an Ipod Touch at around 180 pounds.

os:
Windows XPI bought one half year ago from eBuyer, no problem so far. I guess it was the best player at this price. My views:
- Looks very nice though the edge finishing seems bit cheap
- Screen is bigger than others at this price, bright and clear.
- Touching control is farely sensitive, need to calibrate force first
- Sortware easy to use and reliable
- Earphone is rubbish. But if you have a better one then sound quality is good.
- Can not play when connect to PC, but ok if you safe delete hardware. I.e. you can play in pure charging mode but not in data transfer mode. I have a 5V AC to USB charger and it works fine when charging.
- Last bad thing - battery only lasts about 2 hours for continuous video playing. Battery is sealed so can not get a backup one (though suppose this is common). So if you take long trip on plane dont expect to play it through out.
Above all it well worths the money
A good touch interface media player
os:
Not ApplicableFor the price, you can't go wrong. Sure, it's no iTouch, but it serves the same functions.
The touch sensitivity is a bit unreponsive at times, which is why they included a stylus. Make sure you calibrate it first.
As for the sound quality, its fairly decent, but the headphones they supply are rubbish, get a good pair to improve sound quality.
The video playback is crisp and sharp, however it is limited to 18 frames per second, but is hardly noticable, so don't worry too much.
Overall, its a nice player. The build is solid, and looks quite stylish too, with the crome and glossy black. Other features:
Image Viewer, Text viewer, voice recorder, FM radio, which you can record directly from radio to the memory and even games (not alot of choice).
A good price, if you can't afford an iTouch, but want something similar, buy this.
