Wireless photo frame
os:
Not ApplicableI bought this for my father in law - and now wish I had one myself! The resolution on this is incredibly high for a 7" frame. Alot higher than most branded (think Fuji, Kodak) frames. Brings alot of detail out.
Setup is dead easy. The instructions are clear and in full colour. No dodgy translations here!
Not used the online service yet, but seems to be easy to setup according to the manual though.
Streaming pictures from a network works flawlessly though.
Lets not forget it DOES take most media cards and USB memory sticks like a normal frame, so the price ebuyer have it at (with free delivery) is pretty astonishing.
If you are after a 7" frame, then look no further. This beats my 7" Fuji frame dead with its picture quality alone, let along the wireless features.
If I HAD to be picky, then I would say that the frame DOESN'T auto adjust pictures to fit the screen ratio; it centres the pictures. So the top and bottom of pictures are cut off. This can be avoided by altering the pictures on a PC before hand though. But, its something my Fuji frame does automatically.
Great Buy

Windows VistaTop bit of kit.
Momento subscription is free.
Stream pics from your pc (uses media player 11)
Wireless RF remote is good, the slight delays mentioned are if your clicking too fast.
It will chop top/bottom of a pic if you have rotated them.
At first would not see any wireless network.
All i did was set time, date etc,the country was set as europe,so i thought it did'nt need changing, but as soon as i accepted the change to europe the frame rebooted then the wireless came up.
Bargain must product
Good features at the expense of a smaller screen

Windows XPOverall I am very happy with the frame. Bought it for 65 pounds at end of Feb 08 for mother's day.
The name and colour of the frame is very ipod, if you like that kind of thing! I don't. You can purchase replacement colours for the bezel. Just a quick rant - why does the bezel have to be so thick! I think this is the only tacky feature of this frame and most others on the market. The technology does exist...
Anyway, on to the screen itself. This is good quality and photos are shown in high resolution which is better than some cheap frames I've seen. The menu (which you can only control with the remote) is easy enough to use, just frustratingly slow. The remote is tiny and it is responsive, it just may not seem like it is as there is a 2-3 second lag after pressing a button.
Wi-fi worked straight away on 2 of my routers and I was connected using both WPA and WEP security. The frame works by inputting your photos from many sources:
- memory cards: note that you will need an adapter for some (like Sony's smaller MS duo)
- usb sticks
- media sharing from a PC: this did not work for me. My windows media player 11 saw the frame but could not get anything onto it. Must be a firewall problem. There is little help when googled for a solution. No support from I-mate... Either way, the frame will need external speakers plugged into it for music. Not sure about videos working as haven't tried.
- www.momentolive.com: the reason why I bought the frame and the source I currently use. Register the frame and upload pictures from anywhere in the world. You can get friends to email you their pictures directly to the frame, or you can invite them as a user on the site. The service is free and you DO NOT have to pay a subscription like some internet reviews state. Maybe these are the older reviews.
The instruction manual is very brief but you can download a longer manual from Momentolive.com. It will explain a lot more. Enjoy
Nice one :)

Windows XPOrdered this Monday, arrived Wednesday and on the super saver. Also a bargain price for a wireless frame :)
Well packaged and straightforward to set-up with time/date, location etc. Remote is a bit slow to be received by the frame but you get used to it. Plugged in an SD card and away it goes on a slideshow which can be adjusted through the settings.
Connected to a WiFi network and to a PC running XP with WMP11 and media sharing turned on. Very simple as you just put the pics you want displayed into the 'shared pictures' folder and the frame pulls them down :)
Not tried the Momento Live service yet but the other reviewer says it works fine so hopefully I should have no probs
Positives:
-Price
-Ease of use
-Looks (can change the frame colour I think)
-Wifi
Negatives:
-Wide format seems to crop top and bottom of images with no option to change
-Remote uses CR type battery
-Can be a bit slow to respond
-Power saving does not have an 'auto-off' setting only 'dim' so it doens't turn itself off completely between the set hours which are adjustable
The s/w could do with a bit of tweaking but other than that, this will be great as a present :)
Great idea and good value Wifi frame
os:
Windows XPYou would pay this money for a non wifi frame. So this is a bargain.
Idea of wifi is great and really should catch on.
Being able to stream from a PC is great, no real need for memory sticks.
The RSS feed also work a treat from flickr.
I wanted to give this to my parents and just leave it at their home (they have broadband free from Sky)
then i could update RSS feeds remotely so that they get new photos every now and then.
I can just about do this with this I-momento frame.
Set up was easy. Got mine going in about 20 minutes with streaming and RSS.
Bad points about the frame.
Menus are a bit fiddly and remote is unresponsive.
Problem with giving it to parents is that there is no way they could work it out.
Also MMS and email do not work.
I raised a ticket with Imate. several days later they replied saying the server was down, (don't they have mirrored servers) but they still haven't fixed it.
But at this price and the added flexibility. This frame is great.
If this product became mass market and Imate made it a little more usuable. This could be a huge hit.
Top pictures

Not ApplicableExcellent piece of kit. Arrives in lovely box - in just two days on supersaver delivery - with nicely laid out package, including international plugs.
Looks nice if you like ipod style.
Remote is tiny, and button presses have to be pretty solid, but this is what I expected so I'm not downgrading.
Its OS is really easy to use, wireless connection to PC set up as quickly as I could type in the WEP code and could browse picture folders on the PC.
Easy to switch between wireless and SD card.
No luck so far in getting the Momento Live service to work, although have only tried picture messaging. It claims to be working, so may just be a server issue. It is free, for avoidance of doubt, and should allows picture messaging or emailing of photos direct to the frame (!). If this had worked straight away I would have upgraded to 5 stars.
Haven't tried video.
Overall it feels like something costing a lot more than it does.
