Great
os:
Windows XPFast deliver and best price as always from Ebuyer.
Opened the box (router smaller and smarter than expected) / plugged everything in / I am no expert but did not use the disk, just entered my network ID and password / changed the wireless encryption and password as shown in the basic instruction provided.
Everything was up and running in under 5 minuets / 1 main computer + 2 laptops running XP & Vista (one with VPN). Signal strength EXCELLENT so much better than my old 3COM / Five Bars in every room / not ventured up the garden yet!
This was much easier to install and has better coverage than I anticipated. Only running for six hours now but everything stable and definitely faster.
Great Price - Great bit of kit!

Windows XPI bought this for the price and the N Speed connection. This unit is 30 quid more elsewhere. Ordered Thu, received Fri, with free postage. The unit itself looks good, slim and modern. It took me just 10 minutes to set up. Have set up 2 computers in study wired (has 4 ports) also set up 2 laptops, range excellent - even from en suite toilet at opposite end of house (don't ask - you've got to test it haven't you) You won't get better quality or speed for this price.
All good so far!
Zippy little smart mode/router combo, arrived today, Note to Mac OSX users , the installation CD will not work on Macs, But follow the manual leaflet , and you should be up and running in no time.
Very pleased so far.. Ill do a full review soon.
Thanks to eBuyer for the nice price for this device!
Very Good. Well done Linksys (Cisco)
Got my Linksys WAG160N this morning. It's now set up and configured. Using the CD does help a little if you are not used to setting up a router. I've set up many myself before including my Netgear, D-Link routers and Home Hubs but still used the CD anyway.
I've heard that Linksys routers are not as easy to set up as Netgear ones. I have a Netgear DG834PN at home and think that this was even easier to set up.
I'm sure that you don't really need the CD to get up and running but it does no harm to use it.
The router looks very nice, much more slim than the Netgear.
Wireless seems Ok up till now. It works and I know from reading about this router that a few people have had some problems getting the wireless working with their particular networking cards.
The only issue I have had with the wireless is getting static IP configuration sorted out in Vista. Not such an issue with the router I don't think.
It works on static IP just fine with the ethernet card though.
Great price. Get one while they are still on offer!
Good: even works for SIP h/w

Windows VistaHalle-bluddy-luiah! Had a Netgear DG834PN for a few years. It cost a fortune (over 100ukp at the time), it's been replaced by Netgear and has been a source of pain constantly.
It finally decided wireless wasn't worth having working. Bye Bye Netgear!
Bought this Linksys YESTERDAY and arrived this morning (Saturday).
30mins later I had all four ports on the router with something on.
WPA-PSK2 configured.
My DynDNS account was updating.
Updated email settings to report external attacks via email.
My SIP (BT101 deskphone) was making and receiving calls (port settings are much easier on the Linksys WAG160N!).
And it reaches parts that that nasty Netgear could only dream of getting!
I updated the Firmware. Didn't really need to, cos it worked immediately.
The ONLY thing I can find "missing" is how long I have been online for, but there are plenty of other ways of telling that.
So in conclusion:
1. Half the price of it's predecessor.
2. Looks twice the beast!
3. Has all the features
4. Performs SOOO much better - even my phone can connect to it!
Good Value & Features
os:
Windows XPI bought the WAG160N as a replacement for my previous Netgear DG834GT which died abruptly. The Linksys was very easy to set up, with a host more features than the Netgear, the QOS facility is especially useful. I've wall mounted mine which keeps it out of the usual desk clutter. Although I've only used it in 'g' mode not 'n', it's proved to be rock solid, & much more reliable than the Netgear. Good value for money, definitely recommended.
Easy set up and maintains wireless connection
os:
Windows XPFree delivery but ordered Saturday and came Tuesday.
Easy to set up using supplied CD.
Works well on network with two ethernet connected PC's and with laptops running Windows XP & Vista. Previous 4 year old wireless modem router was frequently dropping the wireless connection but this has not happened with this router. Good signal strength throught our house.
Easy!

Windows VistaExcellent fast delivery from Ebuyer (as always). Great little router, excellent reception all over the house and dead easy to set up. This is the 3rd router I've installed over the years and thi sis by far the easiest to set up and has given no problems whatsoever thus far.
Looker!

Windows VistaFinally, Linksys bring out a router that looks & feels worthy of the brand. This is a quality bit of kit.
The smart interface is really easy to use & set up is simple - it even detects & secures the rest of your network too.
works perfectly

Windows VistaReplaced my old router with a future proof one. Seems to have a much stronger broadband connection than my previous safecom router, deals with noisy lines well; additionally very good wireless interface. Easy to set up. Haven't yet tested the wireless-n mode but sure it works as advertised.
Top marks.
