brilliant case

I got this case for two reasons.

1) I had heat troubles with my old setup, it just got too hot

2) my case was ugly

The Antec 300 solved both in one go. The case comes with a top 140mm fan and a rear 120mm fan. Both are pretty quiet, and have variable speeds, via a switch controller. The case on it's own looks awesome, with the mesh front panel, and the mat black metal work.

I stuck two of these

http://www.ebuyer.com/product/124810

in the front, to help with air flow, although if you have a less heat heavy system, the fans it comes with may be enough.

The blue of the hyper fans matched the power and hdd LEDs on the case, as if they were made for each other.

The side panels hinge off, not slide like some cases. I find this easier to use, as you have less to line up.

The case comes with more than enough screws to mount a motherboard, hard drives and optical drives, no fan screws, though quite a few fans come with those anyway.

The front fans are mounted in a bracket that's removable, so you can fit the fans easily. The front panel is hinged, and can be opened after removing the side panel.

The only shame about the front is that it doesn't have an esata port, which would have been useful.

The reset button is nice and small, no accidental presses.

The overall construction is pretty solid, they layout is good, with the psu at the bottom, this allows the cpu exhaust to vent out the top, keeping cpu temps low, and system temps low too.

I've recorded a 15degC drop in idle temps, to just above room temp, and a 10deg drop when under load (crysis), with all fans at the lowest speed, plenty of room for improvement in cooling.

A Bargain

I needed a ' beefier ' PSU.

So I upgraded to this case from a Wizard series Wi20A to house it

The old case gave me wings but they collected lots of dust and at times were awkward to open.

I opted for the cleaner profile and better build quality Of this case.

The two Antec TriCool fans fitted inside the case run quietly at the middle speed setting, but can be noticed at the top speed .

I have since added a side fan and front fan ( 2 x Akasa 120mm )and replaced all the screws with rubber fan mountings.

This procedure does reduce the fan noise.

Ebuyer do not sell these rubber fittings, I purchased mine from a similarly named auction site.

Fitting the Hi-Power 800W modular PSU was slightly awkward but was achieved without the application of too much force.

After that everything was plain sailing.

Removal of the front panel is achieved by releasing the easily accessible holding clips.

A useful cable tidy is provided so as any unused cables are directed to an area that does not interrupt air flow.

A handsome case and a definite bargain at 35 pounds.

Excellent budget case

operating system: Windows XP

Have had this for over a week now, its a nice size, not that big and not that small, plenty of space inside, cooling options are brilliant, two 120mm front, one 120mm back and one 140mm on top to draw rising hot air , the back and top fan come included and have adjustable speed via a switch. You can also fit on the side for gfx cooling. PSU goes at the bottom, and it has a compartment on the side to stash all the excess cabling and so on.

Build quality is excllent, huge difference from cheap cases ive had in the past, will feel different to that icute, its much more solid and quality feeling. The paint can scartch easily tho, it has a powder form.

Looks wise, i love it, looks understated and sleek, none of the fancy and tacky colouring that you get on some case, looks much better in real life.

You dont get a case system speaker tho. Thats probbaly the main downside.

All in all, its a very good case

this case is BIIG wasnt expecting it to be as big as it is as im used to a microATX case. the case can fit an 8800GTX easily, has great cooling options it can fit 2 intake fans on the front grill, 1 outake fan on the top, one out take fan on the back and one on the side next to the graphics card. the case looks nice as well even without LED lit fans (arent included with the case, can be added after) the build quality is excellent as well, what you would expect from antec, this is a good budget gamers case that doesnt look tacky like some, and has pleanty of room. would recommend to anyone wanting a nice looking case, worth every penny =]

Very Very Good

I brought a cheaper case from ebuyer (one of their cheap gaming cases with the turbine fan on the front) which was very tacky. This case is well worth the extra money. The mesh on the front looks amazing with a blue cathode tube or two. I haven't yet put fans on the side or on the front yet, but the two fans that are already installed suck air through the fan positions, and the amount of air already going through is similar to 80mm fans, without a fan being there. The side panels and the front hinge off, so less time lining up and fiddling about. This case comes with a whole load of thumbscrews, enough to install all 6 harddrives. Unless you have a very hot system, the fans provided are plenty (Keeps my system cooler than my other tower, that had 6 80mm fans.) I love the styling on this tower, and cant wait to mod this case by putting in a window, a drive cover, and more fans + cable sheathing. Would definatly buy another for my next tower. The front cover even has a removable dust filter where the fans are, so there should be hardly any dust on your equipment.

Excellent Product from Antec

There is nothing on the market that matches this case for build quality and case extras such as fans and a box load of various screw fixings. I can't recommend this product enough. The hard drive faces towards the PSU like most cases, rather than facing towards the side of the case, which is common in the higher quality Antec cases. This is better as there can be problems with SATA cables pressing against the side panel when connected to the hard drive. Ebuyer, of course, are great also. Fantastic delivery time, and always kept up to date with the progress of your order. Thoroughly pleased with product and supplier.

What can i say? It's roomy AND sexy in a decidedly understated way. It's made by Antec and doesn't cost the Earth. Cooling options are second to none as is the interior layout. There are no sharp edges either which means your build won't end up resembling a 'B' class slasher movie.

Unless you like your PCs to look like they've just popped over from Sirius B, landed in the middle of Hampstead Heath on a cold and frosty November morning replete with twinkly lights and comedy mist, then buy it.... BUY IT NOW!!! ;)

Great Design

This is a great case and well designed. Comes with a 120mm fan on the back and a 140mm fan on the top (both switchable 3 speed). There's space at the front for 2 x 120mm and a space on the side for a 120mm as well.

I have found the antec supplied fans to be quite loud on maximum but they certainly shift a lot of air. I opted for 2 x 120m Xilence fans on the front and they are very quiet in this case.

Once together it looks really smart with the mesh part at the front.

Inside there's an area next to the hard drive bays with large cable ties that hold all the unwanted cables out of the way, improving air flow. The only problem I had was that the power led was a three pin plug and my motherboard only had a header for a two pin.

Overall 5 stars and I would definately recommend this to anyone who wants good air flow.

Good case

from its satin, rough black finish, to the mesh front, this case oozes quality. Originally i was going to purchase a more expensive, more flashy case, but decided on this one in the end, and im glad i did.

2 large adjustable rpm fans, mounted one rear and one top vent this case really well, and in low speed mode are practically silent, and more than adequate while doing less demanding tasks such as browsing etc.

Power supply mounts at the bottom, allowing the cpu to be close to the upper fan, drawing heat away nicely. the hinged side panel is vented and theres mountings for 2 more fans in the front, behind the mesh panel to cool the 6 hdd bays. Also in the front is a removeable dust filter.

2 small blue led's, hdd and power sit towards the top of the case alongside 2 usb ports, they are quite bright, but not so much as to distract when using pc in the dark. The psu i installed has a blue light inside, and this is visble through the mesh front and complements the power leds nicely.

Comes with enough screws and fittings to start a small hardware shop, this case looks and feels a lot more expensive than it is.
